I am a retired teacher, a keen cook, vegan for 8 years, a volunteer at our local animal sanctuary who moved to Scotland two years ago, taking over an old farmhouse and outbuildings. I share my house with my husband and our tribe of rescued animals - cats, hens and a wee dog called Alfie.
We are Ryan (Scottish) and Caroline (Australian) and we'd love to welcome you to our home in a leafy area close to Edinburgh's fairytale Old Town. We're both vegan, eco-conscious and love animals. We have created a clean and comfortable living space for any like-minded travellers who are visiting Scotland. You will have plenty of vegan cookbooks at your disposal, so you can whip up some delicious meals during your stay. We have lots of feathered friends visiting our garden - including wood pigeons who eat peanuts out of our hand and Mr Blackbird, who clucks under our windows for raisins in return for a beautiful chorus each morning and evening in the spring. You also might meet Nutkins the squirrel, who will feast on peanuts for as long as you keep feeding him. We'll leave plenty of seeds and nuts for you to keep the wildlife happy during your stay, if you wish. There's lots of green spaces nearby, including a beautiful walk through the forested Braid Burn, which is teeming with birdlife, as well as deers, horses and sheep, and Inch Park. Our home has easy access to public transport, to access the city, Arthurs Seat, Portobello Beach or the Pentland Hills.
We look forward to welcoming you - we just ask you to treat our home with the same respect you'd treat your own. You can get in touch with me by mobile, or through Vegvisits, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
I'm a Vegan of nearly 29 years, predominantly for the animals. Over that time I've seen Veganism grow from being a mico-niche of Vegetarianism to being a global movement. This has to be good news for, the animals and the planet.

I have been vegetarian and then vegan since I was 14. I do not drink alcohol and I enjoy quiet places. I am a secular Buddhist monk. I like being guests for lovely and heart-kindness people.
Hello! My name is Kirsty, I’m a yoga instructor, massage therapist and care worker. My diet is plant based, I do not eat any cheese or meat, but I do currently eat eggs. A big fan of vegan alternative meat and cheese though I try to eat it in moderation! Also lots of fresh fruit, veg, and spices!! When I find a good recipe, I share it.
My favourite things to do are long walks with my Springer Spaniel, Otto. I also like listening to music, watching films, anything creative and swimming. I work as a PA to two artistic/autistic clients and I love my work.
Hello, I'm Shira.
I am a long term vegan, an animal and human rights activist, an earth-loving being and a mother of two young boys. On my travels in the UK and abroad, I have found it very difficult to find vegan accommodation.
*A Welcoming Haven*
I know how important it is for vegans to stay in a vegan household. I also appreciate the joy of finding vegan fellowship and sharing stories and plant-based recipes around the table together.
As I am moving out of the area for the time being, I have taken the decision to rent out my lovely riverside home. I hope you will have a wonderful stay and be very happy here :)
Founder of Sheep Sanctuary, a plant based animal rescue ( I use the cruelty free sheared fleece from my much loved sheep to raise funds and awareness )
I have rescued farm animals for over 15 years and i'm now home to over 300 ( mainly sheep)
I dedicated my life to animals
My name is Robin, I'm Welsh and have been vegan for 30+ years and have had a wild life in concerts and events.
I could write so much more but I'd rather do it over drink when you visit, a lot of it is hilarious.
I've made the Queen laugh, over-charged a Pope, seen Dylan Thomas and worked with Pink Floyd. Actually I am considering a departure into comedy next, my material is pure gold. My secret weapons are Chick Pea and Lentil the resident cats, they have my back in this life and the next!
