We are Ryan (Scottish) and Caroline (Australian) and we'd love to welcome you to our home in a leafy area close to Edinburgh's fairytale Old Town. We're both vegan, eco-conscious and love animals. We have created a clean and comfortable living space for any like-minded travellers who are visiting Scotland. You will have plenty of vegan cookbooks at your disposal, so you can whip up some delicious meals during your stay. We have lots of feathered friends visiting our garden - including wood pigeons who eat peanuts out of our hand and Mr Blackbird, who clucks under our windows for raisins in return for a beautiful chorus each morning and evening in the spring. You also might meet Nutkins the squirrel, who will feast on peanuts for as long as you keep feeding him. We'll leave plenty of seeds and nuts for you to keep the wildlife happy during your stay, if you wish. There's lots of green spaces nearby, including a beautiful walk through the forested Braid Burn, which is teeming with birdlife, as well as deers, horses and sheep, and Inch Park. Our home has easy access to public transport, to access the city, Arthurs Seat, Portobello Beach or the Pentland Hills. We look forward to welcoming you - we just ask you to treat our home with the same respect you'd treat your own. My Lifestyle
I've been completely vegan for 6 years, and vegetarian for 2 years before that. My wife, who is also completely vegan moved from Australia to join me here at the start of 2018.

Getting around the area
Quiet, leafy neighbourhood with lots of green spaces, roughly 15 minutes by bus to the Old Town. The outdoor deck and back garden is lovely for relaxing. There is an outdoor BBQ set for you to use on those occasional sunny Scottish days. There are also nice walks nearby such as along the braid burn, where you can often see deer, lots of different birds, and the occasional hedgehog or badger!

About This Space
A closer look at the stay
About
Beautiful, spacious, fully-equipped bungalow, with easy access to the city centre, the Old Town and Edinburgh's many attractions. Excellent links to public transport and walking distance to supermarkets, shops and cafes. Great base for exploring the Pentland Hills and Arthur's Seat. Just 300 metres to beautiful Braid Burn for forest walks and 10 minutes' walk to the University of Edinburgh King's Buildings. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. A home away from home.
The space
You'll have the whole house, and front and back garden, to yourself. The small spare bedroom will contain our personal belongings, such as clothes etc. and will not be accessible during your stay.
The kitchen
Kitchen has a washing machine, microwave, gas oven, cooktop and all cooking utensils and crockery you might need. Coffee and teas are provided for guest use.
Other things to note
It is generally a very quiet neighbourhood, and neighbours are all very friendly but won't bother you during your stay.
