Getting around the area
Despite being so close to the buzzing city of Glasgow, the Waterfall Retreat is a rural oasis, set in beautiful countyside, just on the edge of the small town of Beith. There is wonderful open landscape to explore by foot or bike on your doorstop, with far reaching views of Ben Lomond and Ben Ledi on a clear day. Castle Semple Loch and Clyde Murshiel Regional Park are short distances away and offer stunning landscapes and Watersports. The town of Beith has a quaint centre and large Co-op grocery store with a wide range of foods including a good organic section.

About
Immerse yourself in this unique and tranquil escape surrounded by woodland and flowing water. The Waterfall Retreat is a stunning stone house, once a working Mill originating in the 16th century. It has a private waterfall, pond and extensive gardens to explore. Located only 15 minutes from Glasgow International Airport, 25 minutes from Glasgow, and 30 minutes from some of the most beautiful coastline in Scotland. Modernised and recently renovated to ensure a comfortable and restorative stay.
The space
There are two bedrooms and a bathroom with on ground level, both with beautiful hardwood sleigh beds, comfortable Emma mattresses and ample storage space for you. The master bedroom has a breathtaking view of the outside space- lie back in bed and watch the birds and beautiful flow of water. The bathroom has a gorgeous original cast iron bath (once featured in the TV series, Dr Finlays Casebook) as well as a shower. Upstairs is a open plan living dining area with restored Apa wood floorboards and a vaulted ceiling. There are several comfy seating areas where you can relax and a characterful wood burner to keep you toasty A sound system, Alexa and Chromecast TV is provided for you to enjoy music and programs of your choice. Outside there is a large wooded area to wander in, a flowing river, a holding pool and seating where you can enjoy the mesmerising view of the Roebank Burn as it plunges over the steep precipice while sipping a drink. You can even brave a dip into the natural water surrounded by the rocky ravine and wild vegetation - a magical experience. This is a vegetarian and shoe-free home. Please leave your outdoor shoes in the hall near the front door. Bring your slippers! The Waterfall Retreat is great place to spot wildlife including bats, woodpeckers and deer. There is also a heron that regularly visits us. The plumbing of the Waterfall Retreat is very old which means you have to look after it and be patient for the hot water to come through to the shower. Utility room and small room next to kitchen is currently not for guest use but do contact me if you need to use the washing machine during your stay.
