Neighborhood

Getting around the area

This neighborhood is called Franklin Village - it is just two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, the walk of fame, Pantages Theater and just 5 minutes driving to the iconic Dolby Theater, El Captain Disney Theater and the heart of Hollywood. There are coffee shops, cafes, restaurants all within 10-15min walk that have vegan and vegetarian options. The Farmer’s Market is only a few blocks away on Sundays off of Hollywood & Vine that offers a huge variety of local goods. The Hollywood sign is also just 3 miles away and easily walkable from the apartment if you’re willing to make an afternoon adventure out of it. It’s a good hike for a few hours walking or you can drive through the neighborhoods, park and hike from the street.

About This Space

A closer look at the stay

About

This one bedroom, one bathroom bungalow apartment in the heart of Hollywood with its 100 year old charm and modern conveniences is the perfect Los Angeles hideaway. The gated apartment has amenities such as a full kitchen - refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher with complete access to cookware, glasses and dishes. Laundry with washer/dryer in unit. You also have access to a private porch & deck in the back, the perfect spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon yoga session. There is a small TV in the living room that can be moved to the coffee table for a movie night in or a myriad of Nintendo and Sega games as well as board games, puzzles and cards if you’re feeling nostalgic for pre Y2K life. The neighborhood is filled with cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and bars as the apartment is located just a few blocks from the Hollywood Boulevard, the Walk of Fame and Pantages Theater. On Sundays the Hollywood Farmer’s Market is a can’t miss for fresh and local goods. There is free street parking out front, though it can be difficult to find an open spot, or a dedicated parking space in the back that can be rented for an additional fee.

The space

This is a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment in a gated bungalow-style community. Guests will have access to the entire space, though cozy, it is a perfect place to rest and relax after visiting the hectic city of Los Angeles. There is a private back porch & deck for use as well that I often like to sit out and soak up some sun or bring out my yoga mat for stretching.

The kitchen

The kitchen is fully yours to utilize as well s my cookware, utensils and dishes. I live a fully vegan lifestyle, so I ask that any vegetarian items not be left behind at the end of your stay. Any appliances are free to be used as well - there’s a stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, juicer, single serve coffee pot, food processor and nugget ice machine. The herbs, spices and cooking oils are also free to be used during your stay if you fancy cooking a few meals in.

Other things to note

While I have no animals currently, there was previously a cat in the apartment. Also, almost all of my neighbors have dogs, so you may hear barking while walking outside through the bungalows, but they are all VERY friendly and the likelihood you have any contact is extremely low. We are only a few blocks from one of the busiest streets in Los Angeles, Hollywood Boulevard, so it can be noisy on the weekends. Street parking in the front is free and available however, it can be difficult to find in the evenings. There is a dedicated parking space in the back that I could accommodate for an additional fee.
