Getting around the area
Green Peace Inn is located on the south coast of Sri Lanka, just a few minutes from the centre of Weligama and close to the beach. Weligama is known for its relaxed atmosphere, long sandy bay and excellent surf conditions, especially for beginners. The main surf beach is only a short walk away, and there are several other surf spots along the coast for more experienced surfers. The area has a growing selection of vegan and vegetarian cafés, restaurants and healthy food options. You will also find local fruit markets, small shops and plenty of places serving traditional Sri Lankan food, much of which is naturally plant-based. Nearby, you can explore Mirissa, visit Galle Fort, take a trip to a tea plantation, enjoy the beaches along the south coast or organise a safari to Udawalawe National Park. Getting around is very easy. Tuk-tuks are widely available and are the most convenient option for short trips. Weligama also has a train and bus station, making it easy to travel along the coast or continue your journey through Sri Lanka.

About
Green Peace Inn is an open and welcoming beachfront vegan retreat centre surrounded by nature and a beautiful coastline. Cosy spaces throughout the property invite you to relax and unwind. The centre is located in Weligama Bay, on a quiet stretch of beach, while the town centre is just three minutes away by tuk-tuk. We have two spacious yoga shalas. One is located on the first floor, where the morning yoga, meditation, and breathwork sessions take place. The other is on the rooftop, where we end the day with Yin yoga at sunset. Since 2017, we have been facilitating a retreat that combines breathwork, meditation, and yoga. This week-long retreat includes a variety of practices that give you the opportunity to grow and learn more about yourself, your body, your emotions, and your mind. At the same time, we combine the program with a culinary fusion experience that takes you on a journey through plant-based, vegan cuisine.
The space
Normally, we offer 8-day vegan retreats every second week. During the weeks in between, we rent out our rooms to individual guests. So you can choose whether you would like to join a full retreat with a complete vegan fusion experience or simply stay with us and enjoy Green Peace Inn independently.
The kitchen
During our retreats, we serve a delicious vegan brunch and dinner every day. On non-retreat days, you are welcome to use our kitchen, including our spices and oils, to prepare your own meals. If our chef is available, we are also happy to prepare food for you.
Other things to note
Green Peace Inn is a small retreat centre rather than a conventional hotel, so the atmosphere is generally relaxed and informal. We are located close to the beach and only a few minutes from the centre of Weligama, making it easy to reach cafés, restaurants, shops and surf spots by foot or tuk-tuk. During retreat weeks, parts of the property are used for yoga, meditation and breathwork sessions. During non-retreat weeks, the atmosphere is usually quieter and guests can enjoy the property more independently. As we are in a tropical coastal environment, you may occasionally hear sounds from nature, neighbouring properties or everyday life in Weligama.
