A native French speaker originally from Paris, I lived 22 years in New York and worked in the wine industry before moving back to France in December 2020. I yearned for nature and quiet and fell in love with the Charente area. I currently live with my companion cats, Sangpo and Sigrid, in a hamlet of 4 houses, 13 cats, 3 hens and 2 goats.
Right now it's all about trying to keep up with the garden and the house! I also work part time for a wine company. So it's very low key and my rubber boots and gloves are never far.
1/ I skydived once, hoping to get rid of my fear of heights - didn't work. 2/ After getting my driver's license, it took me 26 years to actually drive.
I enjoy cooking, have an interest in Buddhism and my dream is to adopt two donkeys - or sheep!

This place is an absolute gem. Marie is a brilliant host, fantastic vegan cook (have dinner! it's excellent) and the place is so peaceful, with lovely animals, and a great big garden. And wonderful company. It's the easiest place we've stayed in - no fuss, everything you need, and wonderful people. Totally recommend. Tell your vegan friends! Encore merci.
