Hi, I'm Mo and host our vegan getaway, The Lodge, together with my husband Henry. We are a family of 2 humans, 10 chickens, 2 pigs, 2 rabbits, 2 sheep and a dog! All the animals are rescues of some sort.

We had a fantastic stay at The Lodge, and being new to vegan food, it was a great experience in which to get fully immersed. Henry and Mo were super helpful sending us some simple and tasty menu ideas. There’s a Sainsbury’s Local just up the road, and lots of friendly local pubs within walking distance. Will definitely book again for a relaxing weekend!
I highly recommend Monique and Henry’s property! My family and I stayed here for two nights whilst at a local vegan festival. It is beautifully refurbished with lots of natural light. Everything looked brand new and was pristinely clean. The large walk-in rain shower was particularly excellent. As vegans we really appreciated having a vegan kitchen. The entire property is gated with off-street parking, so very secure and private. You get your own entrance with a spacious hallway, which was very handy for storage. There is also some outside space with table and chairs allocated to guests, which we didn’t have time to enjoy, but hopefully will next time. If you need to work whilst staying here the Wi-Fi was good and there is a desk in one of the 3 bedrooms. The highlight of our stay was definitely the complimentary supervised meet and greet with the super-cute rescue animals We fed grapes to the hens, basil leaves to the sheep, bananas to the pigs and rabbit-treats to the rabbits! Monique and Henry are excellent hosts and the care and love they give to their animals is truly inspirational. I loved the fact that the animal’s welfare is their top priority. They currently self-fund their sanctuary, which is a costly business, with vets bills, food etc so the money they receive from renting out “The Lodge” helps with all that. It’s great to be able to support the rescue animals by staying here. Thank you Monique and Henry. We will be back! 🙏🏼💕
Lovely stay. Our teen daughter really enjoyed the meet-and-greet with the rescue animals, as this is something she would like to do herself in the future. Hosts very responsive to messages. We took up one of the recommendations to try Vegan India, which was very very good. The guest house itself was great. We really liked being able to use the kitchen and know that cutting boards, knives, etc. were free of animal products. There was a good stock of board games which we also appreciated. The location was good for us being outside of Bristol city centre in a quiet area, but close enough to do a day trip. The bedroom with a desk was also great for our son who is studying for exams. You can walk to the Sainsbury's local from the guest house.
