About this space
L’Autre Ferme (The Other Farm) is a non-profit sanctuary for animals rescued from industrial livestock farms. It is currently home to over sixty animals. We are committed to the protection of the surrounding wildlife. Proof that our environment is healthy and unpolluted, swallows have nested in the old bread oven building; skylarks, redstarts and chickadees enchant our days, and owls our nights. We offer a plant-based Bed & Breakfast with three comfortable bedrooms, located in the main building, in the middle of the sanctuary. A vegan "table d'hôtes" is available upon request. All our revenues go cover the needs of the animals.
The space
The three bedrooms are located on the second floor of a recently renovated 17th century building. Their cozy minimalism is conducive to relaxation and reflection. The rooms are well separated from each other, with no one above nor below. They are equipped with brand-new, eco-friendly, Made in France bedding, linen sheets and vintage furniture.
A spacious bathroom situated on the first floor is shared by the guests. It offers an Italian shower and individual closets. There are two separate toilets, one on the ground floor and one upstairs. Crib upon request.
You will have access to the 1000 sq meters garden with deck chairs and garden tables.
The kitchen
Our homemade breakfast is 100% plant-based. It is self-service, so that you can sleep in, or wake up at dawn to enjoy the sunrise! A generous open kitchen and living room host a farmhouse table, comfortable armchairs and … a tuned 1883 Pleyel piano. Our table d’hôtes (meals upon request) is available for dinner only. It must be reserved at the same time with your rooms. We use local, organic and seasonal products as much as possible.
Guests are not allowed to use the kitchen, except to reheat baby food. Complimentary tea, herbal tea, filtered water are available.
Other things to note
A dog and 2 cats live with us in the house. They are not allowed in your room.
Your companion animal is welcome if neutered and vaccinated. He/she must remain under your surpervision at all times. Keep in mind our chickens are free roaming in the garden. We want them to be safe !

Our house is joyful and calm, comfortable and simple, hearty and without frills! Please note that you won't be allowed to store food nor use our kitchen. We kindly ask you to respect the place wich is a vegan farm animal sanctuary ! We work hard to open the sanctuary to visitors and host you in comfortable and very clean home.

Meal Preparation
Our homemade meals are 100% plant-based. We use local, organic and seasonal products as much as possible. We are proud of our organic vegetable garden. Depending on the season, the dishes offered range from healthy and tasty mixed salads, summery pasta and savory tarts, cherry crumbles and sorbets to hearty curries, comforting soups, rich risottos and chocolate cake. Please make a reservation when you book your stay. Prix fixe, per person, beverages excluded, is 25 € for a three-course lunch or dinner – for children under 10: 12€. Beverages (juice, beer, wine) are extra. Alcohol is limited to 2 glasses of wine or 2 beer bottles per person. Dinner only. Cooking classes are offered between October and April.

L'Autre Ferme is a farm animal sanctuary. We are located in the Charente Limousine, a beautiful hilly region in rural France. We are fully vegan, with 3 rooms available. Vegan homemade breakfast is included. A simple and tasty diner, local and organic is proposed in the evening upon request. All the revenus from the rooms participate to fund the sanctuary.
