Dustin specializes in animatronics, steel sculptures, wood carvings, mixed media sculptures. Starting in 2025, he will offer live art performances and experience packages for guests. Feel free to stop by the Studio and say hello. The host's home is on the same 58-acre property. One of them is pointed towards the front door. The other two outdoor cameras are pointed towards the gravel parking areas.***Interaction:We give our guests space but are available if needed.***Neighborhood: Eating Out? Two miles away, in Laurelville, there are 6 family-owned restaurants. Laurelville Pizza has vegan options-go there!***The State Parks & Nature Preserves nearby are: Rockhouse ( 6.5 miles away ), Conkles Hollow ( 10.5 miles away ), Whispering Cave ( 14 miles away ), Old Man's Cave ( 14 miles away ), Ash Cave ( 13 miles ), Cantwell Cliffs ( 12 miles away ), and several more!***Laurelville is a small town on the western end of the Hocking Hills. The closest larger towns within a 30-minute drive are: Logan, Lancaster, Circleville, and Chillicothe.***Notes: Spectrum wifi, the best coverage in the Hocking Hills, is installled. It potentially could have a pause in service but only during really heavy storms. The black wood stove downstairs within the Art Lodge is for LOOKS ONLY; no fires are permitted within the stove.There is one small senior dog, a jack russell terrier mix named Peanut that lives on the 58-acre preserve. If you happen to see him while staying at the Art Lodge, he may steal your heart. He is friendly with humans and knows how to charm for snacks. Big time! Peanut does not do well with other domestic animal companions, so we ask that you do not bring them to the Art Lodge.No trash, liquid chemical fire starters, or cigarette butts are allowed in the firepit. Hosts will supply Firestarter.Keep your fires within the fire pit at all times and no higher than 2 feet.A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended during the snowy weather.Exterior security cameras are in use at this property front door and near the parking area.***Access:Must be 25 years or older to rent this property. The guest on the reservation must be present at check-in with a photo ID which matches address and credit card used. The booking guest must be present during the complete stay.Guests have access to hiking our trails along with the functional fitness stations and meditation areas throughout our 58-acre nature preserve. We do not allow fishing, swimming, or hunting on the property. While you are here, we want you to feel completely welcomed and free to explore around the property while doing your best to leave the smallest footprint possible. Whippoorwill birds lay eggs on the ground, here, without a nest so please watch your step. It is important to stick to traveling on trails when hiking throughout the forest. Practice leave no trace ethics on the preserve.***Transit:Ravens Retreat Hocking Hills a little under 2 miles, East of Laurelville. Drive up a heavily wooded Thompson Ridge Road and you will see us on the South side. About a half mile down our private driveway are 12 parking spots surrounding the Art Lodge. Parking is always free.***House Manual:Shower before you get into the hot tub.All events/parties must be discussed & approved in writing by the hosts. No unregistered guests allowed; Maximum allowed is 16, please enter the correct number of guests before you reserve. $200 per extra unlisted guest/per night.Each guest 18 years of age and older must be listed on the reservation and have valid ID. Guests can drink & cook with the water at the Art Lodge; there is a water softener and filtration system installed for all the properties at Raven's Retreat Hocking Hills.The gas fireplace is only available for use during the colder months. To use the gas stove there is a real fyre remote with an on/off button to activate the flame.Fires in the outdoor fire pit are not to be started with liquid chemical fire starters. Hosts will provide fatwood or other natural fire starters, and a bundle of firewood, to you. More firewood can be purchased 2 miles away from the local gas station or Youngs Family Market. No trash or cigarette butts are allowed in the firepit. Harmful & can attract wildlife.Keep your fires within the fire pit at all times and no higher than 2 feet.The black wood stove downstairs within the Art Lodge is for LOOKS ONLY; no fires are permitted within the stove.There is a fire extinguisher in the laundry room right next to the kitchen.Wild animals such as black bears and coyotes have been seen here on the 58-acre nature preserve; do not leave trash and food scraps outside. This confuses and potentially harms wildlife.The outdoor shower may not be available after several days of sub-zero temperatures.
