Vegan artist, musician and writer with a spare tiny house (complete with kitchen, loo, shower and a low ceiling bedroom upstairs) to rent in a highly touristic area in France. Dordogne is at the same time an Ancient Roman ruins spot, the home of the world famous Lascaux cave (less than one hour drive from us) and many more prehistoric sites including the Cro-Magnon cave. I am 15mn away from the city of Périgueux by car and 10mn walk away from a train station to the city.
My Lifestyle
I work at home most days. I cook lunch and dinner for myself and family every day. At the moment I am also working on finishing up an extension to our house.
Fun Facts About Me
I am a long time vegan, artist and musician. I am not sure whether this is fun or not but I have published three books on vegan culture, including two vegan humor pamphlets/books.
Hobbies & Interests
Music, cooking, gardening my veg patch and greenhouse, drawing, and writing. We do not watch TV or any of that.
Favorite Quote
It only makes sense to talk about freedom if it is freedom to tell people what they don't want to hear.

Additional Services
Extras your host offers
We do not provide such services for now. We are developing this project and will soon have at least one more gite available. If you hope things like vegan meal preparation, we can work something out for at least some meals, so we have to discuss this beforehand. We are into nutrition and vegan culture so we can discuss this, too, but we don't make it a business.

Getting around the area
There is a great vegetarian restaurant in the city with quality vegan dishes at lunch time everyday, and several shopping spots with available vegan items. It is best to drive to the city but there is a local train around 15mn walk away. We are basically in an out-of-the-way countryside spot, but near enough a city to find all facilities and shops there. We have a café, bakery, newspaper stand, hotel and restaurant less than a mile away. There is also a highway about one mile away so access to us by car is easy. Many fine history and tourist spots around.

About
Simple, basic, charming and all-vegan tiny house. This is all in a five-house hamlet 15mn drive from the city and less than one hour drive from the world famous Lascaux cave and assorted museums. Plenty ancient Roman ruins around, too, medieval city center, market and a gorgeous countryside. Several ancient castles to visit, Sarlat less than one hour away. Gorgeous Dordogne is one of the most touristic spots in the world. https://tripusafrance.com/dordogne-france-6-reasons-why-you-must-visit/ We live next door to the guest house in a 16th century water mill and will supply chairs or whatever else you might need (extra bedroom or kitchen gear, etc.). We have a big kitchen in our house and sometimes spend time with guests, i.e. lunch. The cheap ground floor foam mattress (see picture) can be replaced by a single mattress + sheets etc. at request! Perfect for one child, parents upstairs. We moved here recently so we're still in the middle of getting this together, we're doing up the house next door but it all works and the nature around is gorgeous. The local train (stopping service) passes near the house about seven or eight times a day (office hours, rarely at night), which means 15 seconds of medium noise. SO if you really hate trains this is not for you but trains do not bother us at all. And as a result we have a train station to the city one mile away. All shops and malls ten minutes drive away. Nearest local bar/bakery: 1 mile away. There is plenty land all around to walk dogs. Cats can be kept next door if needed, as we happen to have a cat accommodation home nearby (and a dog one, too). We have a couple of rescued cats and we try to feed them with vegan brands but we're only halfway there. Other than that we are true vegans. We have a charming canal and a very clean river with lots of frogs and crayfish and trouts right outside the house, plenty birds, deers, an old stone table with benches under the trees and a large meadow, also a veg patch and private, wild woods.
The space
You have access to our large land, which includes three canals, a river, two large meadows (we are starting an orchard, too) and a large car park suitable for mobile homes or any vehicle. Camping available, too. We live next door so just ask for whatever you might need. Fan provided in case of heatwave, and electric heater. You have your own kitchen, but we sometimes cook together and mingle with vegan guests in our house. We have a vegan books library in our kitchen (most in French, but some in English, too).
The kitchen
We have a large kitchen next door, complete with fridge and oven, etc. We can keep some of your stuff in our fridge if needed, no problem. We ask of our guests to not bring any animal products (including bee honey, dairy, eggs and any animals) please. But we are tolerant on pet food because it's not an easy issue and we still wear old leather jackets and wool jumpers sometimes :)
Other things to note
We keep two cats. Pets welcome. Wifi. Very quiet except for the birds and the frogs sometimes, but we have our local train passing right by the house around seven times a day. It does not bother us at all (only 15 seconds noise).
