Getting around the area
We live in the heart of a large village with shop, post office & pub nearby. Landkey is just outside of Barnstaple & is on the edge of Exmoor...we have some stunning countryside surrounding us & have the Tarka Trail passing right by us. If you like walking/hiking, we can lend you maps & suggest walks you might like...short, long, easy, hard, coastal, woodland, moorland & any combination...we love exploring & you are welcome to join us, if you'd like the company. Should you wish to partake, there are regular quiz nights & interesting talks scheduled in the village, or the odd band playing at the pub. In Barnstaple, there is 100% Vegan cafe & a vegetarian cafe, both serving home cooked food & cakes 10am - 3pm most days of the week. There are also different types of restaurants in Barnstaple offering tasty & interesting Vegan options. We love food so can give you many recommendations! There's a regular bus service through the village roughly 7am-10pm & the bus stop can be seen from the house. There is free on street parking outside with an additional free public carpark, nearby.

About
Spacious Room In Cosy Vegan Home. Great Base To Explore North Devon. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Available To Book.
The space
Our home is a cosy but spacious & welcoming cottage where we invite you to relax. We're on the edge of Exmoor & have good transport links right outside. You are booking a large Double room with a Kingsize bed but, you are free to make yourself drinks in our kitchen & make yourself at home in the communal areas. Your room is yours for the duration of your stay & will not be entered, unless you request it. You are also welcome to bring your companion animals, by arrangement...we love them but, have to ensure our home is suitable. Please note, there is an additional charge of £2ppetpn & they must be supervised at all times during your stay. We used to run a Vegan Tearoom next door so we can easily cater for you & any dietary requirements, should you wish. Please enquire about our additional Breakfast &/or Supper options. When we're home, we love to light the lounge wood burner in the evenings as it creates such a lovely atmosphere. You're welcome to join us to watch anything you choose on Netflix, or play any of the board/card games in the lounge. You have one full shared bathroom upstairs & separate WC downstairs to use...so, you won't get caught short! We have an abundant garden accessed by a flight of steps & a few steps up to our path to the front door. Therefore, our old home is unsuitable for those with any mobility needs. Our home & garden is also a no smoking area. However, you can vape in the garden.
The kitchen
We have a well equipped kitchen & you are welcome to help yourself to Tea, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Use the Coffee machine & soft drinks in there. Let us know if you'd like to prepare your own Vegan food so we can show you where everything is & ensure we have your preferred vegan milk in stock. We used to run a Vegan Tearoom next door so can easily cater for you, & any dietary requirements...it was our speciality...just let us know. We have a separate fridge & shelving in the old Tearoom for storage of any non vegan food &/or animal companion food.
Other things to note
Yes, our home is on the main road through the village. Thankfully, we have the A361 Link Road which bypasses the village so we now only get local traffic. If you are an extremely light sleeper, you are welcome to book the bunkbed room which overlooks the rear garden. We have great Wifi but phone signal inside our 200yr old walls can be hit & miss! We don't have any animals of our own but a family dog regularly comes for a sleepover! Please enquire if you require a pet free environment during your stay.
