About this space

(Note: Please contact me for accurate, up-to-date rates, as the rates shown here are not connected to my pricing software.)A SECLUDED CUSTOM-DESIGNED SUITEWalk through large, hand-made wooden gates and discover a secret space in the heart of Portland — A GORGEOUS STONE PATIO enveloped with Arbor Vitae trees containing multiple seating areas for dining outdoors or a relaxing evening by the fire pit. This is your perfect base for experiencing the MAGIC of ALBERTA STREET & WILLIAMS AVENUE, local breweries and tons of vegan eateries or day trip to the Coast or Columbia Gorge.

The space

From the bedroom, you can open the door to the breeze or listen to the gentle rainfall from the cozy QUEEN BED topped with a memory foam mattress that guests rave about.

A desk sits in the corner for last-minute emails and a 55-inch 4K UHD Android TV graces the wall across from the bed for late-night movie watching.

The brightly lit bathroom has a large shower with amazing water pressure, custom tiled walls, high ceilings and natural stone floors. You'll find soft organic cotton towels, and natural, organic soap and shampoo.

Whip up a light meal in the kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, Induction cooktop and other appliances. Fun, brightly colored dishware set against the white cabinets and subway tile invite you to enjoy a fresh cup of ORGANIC FAIR TRADE COFFEE from the French press or ORGANIC TEA from an electric kettle. FILTERED TAP WATER flowing from the PURE MOUNTAIN RESERVOIR allows you to forgo buying bottled water and thereby help reduce the plastic pollution in our oceans and ecosystems.

Beautifully designed and decorated, the Patio Suite will delight you with how CLEAN, restful, and chock full of thoughtful touches it is. The creative space was designed for your comfort with hardwood floors, custom trim, and BRIGHT blues and turquoise walls adorned with ORIGINAL ARTWORK, including my mother's needle art that I custom-framed.

Attached to my 114-year-old historic home, your private entrance is under a covered porch with a BISTRO TABLE. On the stone patio you'll find another, larger patio table for outdoor dining and a lounge set with a GAS FIRE PIT that will seduce you into kicking back and relaxing with drinks. Or you can just close your eyes and WORK ON YOUR TAN.

This brightly lit tiny home feels like so much more than a tiny home with high ceilings, a hidden SWING-UP COUNTER and CHAIRS, AMPLE COUNTERTOP, a spacious lighted closet and an extra-large bathroom.

You'll find plenty of TRAVEL BROCHURES and magazines to help you choose from a wide range of activities right outside the gates. Bike along the LEAFY RESIDENTIAL STREETS and ALLEYS and get to know Portland's diverse neighborhoods with locally-owned shops. Take a short hop to DOWNTOWN or DAY TRIP to nearby National Parks, including Mt. Hood National Forest and the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area – one of the most beautiful spots in the world!

Other amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible include an iron and ironing board, hangers and shelves, luggage rack and plenty of hooks to hang things.

All this careful attention to detail and your comfort are curated by a warm, WELCOMING HOST!

I look forward to your stay and am available to answer any questions you may have.

(Note: If the Patio Suite isn't available on the dates you're needing, search for the Secluded Patio Cottage. (For more information, see the Portland Eco House website.)

- The Patio Suite entrance, porch, bistro table, bathroom, kitchen, and all other amenities inside are totally yours alone to enjoy in complete privacy and are not shared with any other parties. The only shared space is the patio, and that is shared with the one to two guests who may be staying in the Patio Cottage.

- Guests are warmly encouraged to immediately inform me if any problems, questions, confusions or dissatisfactions at all come up so that I can immediately address and fix these during their stays.

I've lived in Portland for a long time and know the city and region well. I'm an easy-going guy with some world travel under my belt. I'm into natural and sustainable living, culture, and Oregon's countryside and wilderness. While giving you all the space you need, I am friendly and welcoming, and I am happy to guide you to whatever local sightseeing or experience you may be in the mood for. If you are vegetarian, vegan or just curious about or enjoy plant-based cuisine, I have been vegan for longer than I can count and am tuned into the plethora of vegan/plant based shops, restaurants, bars and activities in town and can give you some ideas of where to grab that kind of grub to your heart's delight.
