The cottage is located at the Vervet Monkey Foundation (an internationally accredited vegan sanctuary) on 25 hectares of indigenous bush land in the sub-tropical paradise near Tzaneen. Guests have the cottage to themselves and may like to sit by the fire pit or take a walk up the hill to see the views and watch the sunset. The outdoor eco-toilet, sink and hot shower is shared with a few other people. Observe the wild monkeys & bushbabies roaming around in nature alongside the sanctuary. The space

Wardrobe, wash bin, side lamp, yoga mat and 2 camping chairs to use outside are provided.
The cottage has additional security bars on the door and windows.
A fan is provided in the cottage but no aircon.
Bedding, pillows and mosquito nets are provided and once a week cleaning.
A vegan breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided on request for an additional fee by our cooks (check in advance). The fee includes room only, teas & coffees. Our community kitchen is fully vegan. There is a patio area to eat outside under cover where sanctuary staff and volunteers also eat and also a lounge area. Teas and coffees can be made in the communal kitchen.

All windows and doors must be closed when not in the room so wildlife can't get in and for security. No touching of the monkeys in enclosures allowed and strictly no feeding wildlife. No loud music.

If booked in advance it is usually possible for us to organise a tour to places such as Kruger National Park during your stay and other options with a guide for a fee. We also have details of a local reliable taxi. It may be possible to get a lift into town or lodge on the days we go also. Car hire is possible in Tzaneen. Opportunity to book a day volunteer experience with a staff member for those wishing to help care for monkeys (for an additional fee).
