Getting around the area
Our gated house is situated in a friendly neighbourhood on a small side road away from main traffic and has ample parking space. We have 3 rescue dogs and the garden is often visited by birds and Mauritian fruit bats which animal lovers will enjoy. Tamarin beach is reached in only a few minutes by car or bike and even by foot. A small grocery store, Pizza place as well as local take-way food are situated a few blocks down and all on the same road going towards the bay. The town and village have many little restaurants with vegetarian and vegan options - we are happy to advise you for all the lovely options available. Two bigger shopping centres are also easily reachable by car or public transport.

About
Enjoy a stay in our double story house, well located in a friendly neighbourhood in sunny Tamarin, on the West Coast of Mauritius. We have a big garden with fruit trees, veranda with lounge, out door fire place and a swimming pool. Ideal for travellers that like to explore the island or surf or sunbathe at Tamarin beach. Enjoy a stay in our upstairs double room with private balcony and ensuite bathroom. An additional downstairs private single-to-twin room with bathroom just opposite can also be booked (separate listing). We share a spacious living area and open kitchen, veranda, garden and swimming pool. You will enjoy free filtered water and wifi during your stay. It is best to have a rental car to explore the coast and get around on the island. If you'd like to stay without, we can propose bikes for your use or taxi services, and public transport is accessible too.

Lovely 1st floor private bedroom accommodation, with private balcony, queen size bed (+1 single can be added at small extra cost), private bathroom w. shower and toilet, air-con, cupboard, shelves, desk and chair.
The kitchen
Open space kitchen with breakfast table, Fridge and freezer, drinking water-dispenser (cold and hot), kettle, filter coffee machine or Italian coffee press, toaster, stove, oven, micro-wave, pressure cooker, rice-cooker/steamer all common pots, pans, utensils and dining service and cutlery.
Other things to note
Tamarin is an ideal starting point for discovering the west coast of the island. Things to see/do: Surf, swim and sun bathe at Tamarin Beach, enjoy La Preneuse Beach and discover the Martello tower, visit the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation's bird sanctuary, visit the last functional l sea salt manufacturing site, Kite Surf or swim at Le Morne beach and visit it's open air historical slavery memorial museum, hike into the Black River Gorges, enjoy a day on the a catamaran, visit Chamarel with it’s 7 coloured earth, waterfall and rum manufacturing, discover Flic En Flac's long beach and buzzing beach town life or drive further south along the beautiful coast to Baie Du Cap, Bel Ombre and Riambel to discover more of our coast’s wonderful nature sites and special attractions such as ‘Le Vortex’ an outdoor spiritual healing center.
