Getting around the area
The neighborhood is filled with older homes, large lots and mature trees. It's great for a long walk to stretch your legs. Getting around: Unfortunately there is no public transportation. However for electric car owners, we do have a Tesla charger available, and it can be configured for other electric cars with an adaptor. Please check with us ahead of time. (The outlet is a NEMA 14-50 240 volt.)

A closer look at the stay
About
We have a house with a large private yard. This listing is for a large room with a queen bed and an attached bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. (No TV in the bedroom.)
The space
The house is located on the end of a dead-end street with a 2-acre lot and no visible neighbors. There are great views of the Illinois river as the house is on the top of the hill overlooking the valley. It's quiet and sunny. The yard is entirely organic, and in the summer there should be an abundance of fresh veggies in the garden. We have installed a 15.6kw solar array to power the house. Currently our green creds include geo-thermal heating/cooling, all LED bulbs, and water saving fixtures. We've also converted over to native plants and have a milkweed garden for the monarchs. Guest access: You'll have access to the entire house with the exception of our master bedroom.
The kitchen
This house actually has two kitchens! We love to cook and have lots of gadgets. Vitamix, food processor, stand mixer and pressure cooker are some of the major appliances. We also have a well-stocked pantry in case you want to cook but need a tsp of guar gum -- we have you covered! ;-)
Other things to note
We have two adorable and friendly cats. They don't have access to the guest rooms (unless you let them). While visiting friends with allergies seem to do ok, we can't guarantee that the house is completely allergen free.
