The space

Moulin Scalagrand is a self-sufficient mill and an alternative retreat based on the principles of permatourism. Our site has been redeveloped to offer immersive experiences in permaculture farming, vegan, farm-to-fork culinary activities and foraging. We invite you to engage in a greener approach to tourism. We offer four freshly renovated and beautifully decorated rooms. Frédérique, your hostess, has been personally working on them since summer 2017 with an admirable DIY approach and great attention to detail. In the bedroom, you'll find: - a large double bed or two single beds, - a private bathroom or a shared one with toilet, sink and walk-in shower, - a fully equipped shared kitchen (fridge and coffee/tea making facilities), - a shared sitting area. A rustic yet modern touch provides an inspiring and pleasant atmosphere in which to immerse yourself. All rooms come with homemade soap and shampoo. Guests are asked to use these homemade products as they are designed to reduce sewer pollution and protect its bacterial balance. Room reservations include a healthy and delicious vegan breakfast featuring a variety of organic, homegrown and local fruits and vegetables, homemade vegan cheeses, marmalades and much more. Breakfast is served in the beautiful communal kitchen or outside in the garden or by the natural pond or under the wooden porch. Each room is named after a species of bird that lives around the mill. You can recognize them by the paintings on the door of each room.

The kitchen

We offer evening meals, also known as table d'Hote, a vegan dinner prepared with vegetables from our garden. You can book it at your arrival with your host. The b&b offers a fully equipped kitchen for our guests.

Other things to note

At the mill live our dog Pablo and two cats, Nera and Mitzy, they are free to roam around the property. We also have chickens, pigs and sheep, in fenced areas of the property. If you wish to bring your companions please let us know in advance.
