About

“How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains!” ― John Muir, The Mountains of California The above words will resonate with you when you wake up in The Songbird Studio! Come and enjoy this newly built modern space and wake up to the song of the birds and magnificent views of The Little Pisgah Mountain. The Songbird Studio is an idyllic retreat for a solo traveler or a couple, seeking to explore the beautiful Western North Carolina/Asheville area.

The space

The Songbird Studio has a modern Queen Murphy bed with soft pillows, exclusive sitting area with scenic mountain views, dedicated workspace/Dining Table for two, Private en-suite modern bathroom with bidet and shower, and a separate Heat/AC unit exclusively for the guests. The studio has two large picture windows to soak in the stunning mountain views from your bedside and from the sitting area. There are beautiful trees all around which gives a feel of living in a forest retreat with modern amenities. The kitchenette includes a Compact Refrigerator, Microwave, Electric Kettle, Pitcher Water Filter, locally sourced coffee and variety of teas and necessary cutlery, plates, bowls etc. The studio has been extensively designed for the guests to connect with the surrounding abundance of nature without an Idiot-box (aka TV)! However, there is reliable high-speed internet for people to connect and remotely work. There are some books to read along with some board games. The studio comes with a Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speaker to unwind, relax and meditate to connect within.

The kitchen

The Songbird Studio has a vegan Kitchenette to heat food and make tea/coffee

Other things to note

All guests have an exclusive private entrance consisting of a flight of stairs (the studio is situated above the Garage and is very quiet). There is a keyless entry to the studio. The Guests will also have their own parking spot in the driveway. The property is on a hill hence the road leading up to the studio and the driveway is a bit steep. The road is well-maintained and is salted during the winters. Two-wheel drive vehicles are fine except during significant accumulations of snow or ice. We frequently have visitors from the neighboring wilderness. Bears, Rabbits, Turkeys, Squirrels, variety of Birds, an occasional snake are amongst them. Please be attentive of the wildlife and do not feed them. We are nature lovers and like to conserve natural resources. The construction site always results in losing some trees, so we made a conscious effort to plant a greater number of tress than what were lost. We have an ecohome and a green build home. We avoid using paper towels and instead have provided a few cleaning cloth. Incase, you would like paper towels then please let us know We reside in the main house adjacent to the studio. There are security cameras outside for us to monitor and to keep the place secure. This is a new construction so you may see some workers working on the property and in the garden, including us.
