Enjoying life in the north woods of Minnesota and north shore of Lake Superior at our 3-acre property on Stone Lake in St Louis County, MN (north of Duluth)

My Lifestyle

I am 9 years vegan, and 7.5 years vegetarian prior to that. I am a vegan chef, (and former vegan restaurant owner) with many years experience catering and developing recipes. I can accommodate most special diet requests with advance notice (WFPB, GF, NF)

Fun Facts About Me

I am the former owner/operator of NoButcher, one of the first vegan "butcher shops" in the country (maybe the world?) and one of the most successful vegan restaurants in Las Vegas. I sold the business and am now retired. I am a cookbook judge and recipe tester for the James Beard Foundation

Hobbies & Interests

I love to spend my days foraging/exploring our 3 acre wooded property and lake, crafting (basketry, knitting/crocheting, sewing, jewelry making, & trying new things), reading, listening to music, cooking, and playing ukulele. I love to travel in the US and beyond! So far I've visited 44 states, and 6 countries!

Favorite Quote

"Veganism is not about giving anything up or losing anything: it is about gaining the peace within yourself that comes from embracing nonviolence and refusing to participate in the exploitation of the vulnerable. _Gary Francione
