Little Blue is a classic Kiwi beach house. Small in size, big on character. Although the house isn't huge, it's clean and welcoming. A comfortable lounge, a well-functioning kitchen, and a new single-person infrared sauna has been installed in the meditation room for health and relaxation. The main bedroom (host), the bathroom, and separate toilet are inside the main house, and can be accessed through a doorway from the lounge. All supplied cleaning and shower products are plant-based, so they are healthy for humans and the septic tank system. Being a rural property, Little Blue is on tank water, but the host collects and drinks water from a local spring. Spring water is also made available to guests in their room. Guests have the privacy of the property sleepout, situated just behind the main house. There is no ensuite. The room has a fridge, tea, and coffee-making facilities. The guest sleepout is the biggest room on the property. Aramoana is a small beach community, well known to surfers and nature lovers. You can hear the sea from your room, or you can take the access track, situated just to the left of Little Blue, that takes approximately seven minutes walk to the main beach. There are no street lights at night, so the stars are incredible on a clear night. Sea lions are a common site around the beaches, or you can often find seals on your walk out to the end of the mole, where the light guides ships into the harbour. When you're standing at the end of the mole, look across the harbour channel to the lighthouse, and if it's windy, you may see the Great Northern Albatross come home to nest at the Albatross colony.
