About This Space
A closer look at the stay
About
Wooden cabin to yourself at the Vervet Monkey Foundation, an internationally accredited sanctuary. The outdoor eco-toilets, sink and hot showers are shared with a couple of other people aswell as the communal areas such as the kitchen & lounge area in seperate buildings further up the path if you wish to use them. Enjoy the 25 hectares of indigenous bush at a working rescue sanctuary. Wild vervets and bushbabies amongst other nature can be found here. Enjoy a walk on the hill or just watch the sunset on one of the rocks in simplicity & nature. If more than 2 people, see our other listings less than 100m away Rubin's cottage.
The space
The cabin is approx 3m x 3m situated in a quiet area away from other cabins. There is a double bed with bedding, mosquito net, fan & wardrobe. The outdoor shower and eco-toilet are only shared between a couple of people. There is a covered patio area for dining and meals can be prepared on request by our vegan cook. There is also a lounge area & firepit (shared also by volunteers).
The kitchen
Use of the communal area of the kitchen is for tea / coffee / breakfast (shared with volunteers). Use of kettle and toaster and shared fridge space.
Other things to note
3 rescue dogs and a few cats live on the sanctuary premises. Generally the sanctuary is quiet, especially between the seasons of Feb - Sept when there are less volunteers.
