We are able to provide some local meals for you and arrange for you to learn how to cook local vegan food traditionally using banana leaves. We have a tours and travel company so any activities you want to do we can arrange along with transportation! Yoga coming soon...!

Getting around the area
We are on top of a hill with great views of the Lake and other Islands, surrounded by birds and nature. The neighbourhood is quiet. It's a great place for cycling - we don't have bikes @ home yet however we can arrange to hire them. There are some good places to get vegan food closely in the town such as Beam Bites and Desire (they have nice fresh juice also) although they do also serve meat. The best way to get around is by Boda (motorcycle taxi) we have one that we can arrange to take you on or if you prefer a car that can also be arranged!

About
Welcome to Bugala Island, Kalangala District - We hope you have many adventures here! Come and enjoy this home in the community of Buligo, just a few minutes from Kalangala town. We offer self catering accommodation at a budget friendly price. Relax on the hammock, listen to the birds and enjoy the nature & lake views during the day & the glistening stars at night. There is a garden with various things growing - when they are ready help yourself! This is a plant-based / vegan household! :)
The space
The house is a standalone in an open compound surrounded by green nature - the area is very safe. There are some lovely neighbours living behind. Outside you have access to all areas including the garden to the left of the house where we are growing various vegetables, herbs and some fruits also. Enjoy the hammock while you're around, just make sure to bring it in through the window on a night or when you go out in case of rain! Inside there is a living room with space for yoga / exercise, kitchen with cupboards, fridge/freezer & blender for making smoothies and the master bedroom with ensuite washroom including a flushing toilet - you have exclusive access to all of these spaces. We don't yet have running hot water, you can boil water on the gas or sigiri (charcoal stove) if you want to bathe with hot water. There is no running water in the kitchen however there's water in the jerrycans ready for using. Enjoy simplicity of life and connect with nature during your stay - Namaste!
The kitchen
We have a good sized kitchen with plenty of worktop space. There is a fridge freezer, gas & sigiri (charcoal stove) for cooking, a high-powered blender is also available on request. We kindly ask that guests refrain from bringing any dairy/eggs into the house, we do occasionally have good quality honey available - this is the only non-vegan thing we sometimes consume.
Other things to note
We don't personally have any animals ourselves at home yet there are some dogs around locally who come to say hello and our neighbour has chickens. We have parking big enough for 2 cars outside the house. Wifi can be arranged for a small fee.
