Vegetable organic farm in an 18th century eco-renovated Winery. Big cathedral living space, quiet and full of light. From April to December, guests get full access to the vegetables, included in the price. Kitchen are fully equipped to cook your harvest. La Ferme de Brouage is a working organic farm, specialized to cater the needs of premium and Michelin star chefs. So you will find no less than 40 different vegetables, lots of varieties (25 different tomato varieties), 30 herbs, 45 edible flowers.

The space

Located between La Rochelle, Royan, and Rochefort, La Ferme de Brouage is a micro-farm specializing in organic market gardening and agroforestry, in the heart of the Brouage marshes. We envisioned this place as a rejuvenating space, where you can rediscover time, finally slow down, and take care of yourself and your loved ones... through harvesting, cooking, nature, and the joy of large gatherings! Both a place of nourishment and a place of rejuvenation, the Ferme de Brouage is home to vegetable gardens, where a wide variety of vegetables, aromatic plants, and edible flowers grow, a large swimming pool, and five cottages that can accommodate 4 to 14 people for the biggest, with a total of 36 beds altogether. We designed this place to awaken in each of us the pleasure of connecting with life: observing nature, feeling the earth, picking ripe vegetables, cooking together in a bright and well-equipped kitchen. As a family, (re)learn to look, listen, smell, and pick from a garden of abundance. The cottages were designed to be comfortable and spacious with bright kitchens, fully equipped for enjoying the pleasure of cooking together. Each stay becomes an invitation to reconnect with simple, authentic flavors, in tune with the seasons.

The kitchen

We do not cook for guests, but guests can harvest their own food or we can arrange chefs to deliver your meals, prepared with our vegetables. Starting from 25 euros / person to Michelin one-star diner delivered to your cottage for 50 euros. Inspired by the work of Jean-Martin Fortier, we created the farm in 2019 and wanted to experiment and produce on a small area (1 hectare). With minimal mechanization, we practice organic farming in open fields, greenhouses, and nurseries. As you stay with us here, you'll step into the daily life of a microfarm: understand the tasks, the seasons, the agronomic choices, and the challenges of healthy, sustainable, and local food. If you feel like it, you can participate to the daily activities of the farm, whether it's sowing seeds or harvesting crops.
