Neighborhood
Getting around the area
Astoria is known as one of the best cuisine neighborhoods in all of NYC. Within a 5 block radius you can enjoy Korean, Greek, Latin, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Lebanese and more. Most restaurants have vegan and vegetarian options on their menus and most will accommodate vegan requests off the menu. Besides food, there is a movie theatre within a 7 minute walk, the Moving Image Museum and the Kauffman Film Studios. If you're up for a stroll you can walk (or take the bus) to Astoria Park, Socrates Sculpture Park, Rainey Park, or Noguchi Museum. There are 2 train stations each within 7-9 minutes walk that take about 15 minutes into Manhattan. Buses travel on the avenues and run frequently. Citibike is close by and a fun way to move around. Astoria is very bike friendly.

The kitchen is designed for a home chef and exclusively for your vegetarian cooking-in nights. The kitchen
The kitchen is designed for a home chef and exclusively for your cooking at home nights. It is a full sized kitchen with full-sized appliances (in NYC many kitchens are kitchenettes and have small size appliances). The cabinets are filled with all of the oils and spices you could dream of and a grand variety of legumes all for your use.
Other things to note
The neighborhood and building is quiet and laidback. The same for the apartment, as it does not share walls with any other apartment. There is free and paid street parking and paid garage parking within a few blocks.
