About this space

Welcome to our little vegan haven. Nestled in the traditional village of Maniktawang, about 30min north of Ubud, you find Harmony Hill. A secluded place to immerse yourself in nature, unwind, recharge. Step out onto a gorgeous deck opening to an imposing valley of rice fields and coconut trees and your private jungle pool below. After a delicious vegan breakfast, make your way down the valley to a near-undiscovered waterfall or explore our beautiful village. We also serve plant-based lunch & dinner!

The space

Harmony Hill is a fully private villa nestled against a slope away from the main road, allowing you to fully disconnect and enjoy the breathtaking views.

The villa has 3 beautiful bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms, each uniquely decorated with local handicrafts. In one of the bathrooms you find a gorgeous handmade copper bath tub - perfect for a self care moment, also big enough for 2 ❤

A second bathtub looks out over our food garden in the making, while our third bathroom is fully enclosed for those who need more privacy.

{If you would like a 4th bedroom, consider booking our nearby 1 bedroom cottage The Jungle Nook as well. You can contact me to see if it's available for your dates.}

The living room has windows all around to fully immerse you in the valley views, while providing plenty of space to hang out with your friends or family. You will have a private kitchen, equipped with fridge and freezer which we have stocked with our favourite snacks and drinks.

The deck is made from beautiful recycled ironwood and will surely entice you for some yoga, meditation, journalling, writing music or whatever else calls you.

Looking out from the deck you will see your private jungle swimming pool. At night fireflies dance over the water while frogs and crickets croak nearby. You might choose to enjoy dinner or evening tea in our antique Javanese pavillion by candlelight.

As we are located at a higher elevation, you can sleep with the windows open and enjoy the fresh air. Air conditioning is not needed and therefore not provided🌿

We are currently working to create a nourishing food garden - you will already spot jackfruit, durian, passion fruit, chaya, a rare variety of mango and lots of local herbs and veggies.

We have a wonderful in-house vegan chef who can prepare anything from a scrumptious chile sin carne or sushi platter to a wholesome salad bowl so you won't even have to leave Harmony Hill if you don't want to :)

We can cater to fully catered silent retreats upon request. Contact us if you are interested.

The kitchen

We have a wonderful private chef at your disposal to prepare delicious nutritious vegan meals. However if you would like to cook by yourself, we can provide some simple pots and pans :)

The villa has a stove, kettle and coffee maker, as well as a full size fridge. We've stocked it with vegan snacks and ice creams for you to enjoy but we can also remove those if you need more space!

Other things to note

INSECTS and other CREATURES

At Harmony Hill, we live alongside the vibrant creatures that have called this place home long before we arrived. Our tropical setting is teeming with life, from insects and frogs to geckos, cicadas and countless other critters. We believe in living in harmony with the rest of nature and want to offer our guests an authentic experience of this rich, untamed ecosystem.

You'll spot beautiful butterflies fluttering through the air, but you'll also come across a whole host of other creatures—some familiar, some a bit more unusual—all with their own unique colors and shapes. The jungle is a place where nature shows up in every possible form.

Geckos of various sizes make their homes with us, and though harmless, they do add their distinctive calls at night. In return, they’re incredibly helpful, keeping our space clear of pests - in Balinese culture they're considered bringers of good energy!

Our garden is home to playful squirrels, colourful birds, and curious lizards. At sunset, you might see bats flying around, and the jungle fills with a chorus of sounds, from croaking frogs to rustling leaves. As night falls, you might be lucky enough to see fireflies glowing over the rice paddies.

You will also meet our 3 lovely adopted kittens who were foundlings near Harmony Hill.

While we deeply appreciate the beauty and balance of this wild environment, we understand that the intensity of nature here may be overwhelming for some.

*** Please take a moment to consider whether this unique, immersive experience aligns with what you're seeking during your stay. ***

If you come with your own car, please note we have only one (!) parking spot available at the villa. Please inform us upon booking so we can reserve it for you.

While our village is still untainted by mass tourism, we are just a stone's throw away from Bali's largest spring water temple, Tirta Empul, and the mystical ruins of Gunung Kawi, also known as the Valley of Kings.
Please note: while our village is traditional, it's very much alive and you may encounter our neighbors singing, dancing or conducting one of Bali's many beautiful ceremonies during your stay ;)
