Other things to note
Galahad's Animal Sanctuary is set on 30 acres and is an animal rescue sanctuary. Galahad's Animal Sanctuary has rescued many animals, including camels, horses, donkeys, cows, sheep, alpacas, chickens and a rooster as well as dogs. We currently have over 50 animals on site, but have rescued over 77 so far. When you stay with us, all proceeds go to the feed and care of all the animals at Galahad's Sanctuary. We will provide you with a small free tour of the sanctuary at no additional charge.
The property has two dams, it is well treed with large open spaces and has a beautiful view to Mount Macedon. Kangaroos, Possums and Echidna's also live here.
You will be able to walk around the property, however please stay out of the animal paddocks without supervision, as there are large animals such as horses and camels in these paddocks.
Please note this is a working farm environment, it sometimes can be messy and smell like animals. Animals can be noisy e.g. a rooster who crows in the morning, and a camel who growls when she is pleased to see you. Not to mention the donkeys!
Please remember to ensure the gates are always closed behind you.

Please respect closed gates, and do not enter paddocks with the larger animals. All animals are rescue and have different levels of trust, so just gently approach them and they will let you know. Some however are quite interactive and might head butt you (love bump) or jump up to say hi (sheep mainly, but I also have friendly camels, dogs and horses). If you bring a dog, they must be kept on lead, unless they are in their own garden.
Tour Guide
I will take you on a small tour to greet the 51 rescue animals onsite. All proceeds from your stay will go towards their feed, vet bills and enrichment.

Your hostess Lynne McAlister delights in sharing her home and will go out of her way to ensure a memorable stay. Lynne has been a local in the region for 20 years and will endeavour to ensure you see all that the Macedon Ranges has to offer. Lynne is the founder of Galahad's Sanctuary (https://www.galahads-sanctuary.com/) and has a genuine love and respect for all animals. Galahad’s Sanctuary was started 6 years ago. All profits from your stay will go to the animals feed, vet or enrichment bills. Her generosity of spirit and selfless dedication to her animals is heartwarming to witness. Lynne was inspired by her beloved Irish Wolfhound, Galahad. She learnt first-hand the difference animals make in the lives of people when doing pet therapy at the Royal Children’s Hospital and seeing the impact her beloved Galahad had on the children and nurses he visited. His pure love and that of many animals since, have inspired her quest to seek a harmonious and sustainable way to tread lightly on our planet and ecosystem using a plant based diet.
Lynne's property is located in Gisborne, VIC, AU
