The space
Second story, airy, open concept apartment with lots of windows on all sides, allowing for incredible views of the surrounding farmland and tidal estuary across the road. It features a lovely bathroom, small bedroom with queen-sized bed, a kitchenette (no oven), large smart TV and air conditioning.
Board games, puzzles, drawing supplies and yoga mats provided. Bikes are also provided for you to enjoy the surrounding country roads - bike the famous 'Starrs Point Loop', to nearby farm stands, Canning or the beach.
LAILO Farm sanctuary is home to 37 rescued farm animals who will live out their days on this peaceful property. Most of the animals love visitors, and your hosts will be happy to introduce you to them.
Check out Will Cooper Art gallery and studio directly below the apartment and see how Will makes his wonderful maritime-themed wooden paintings.
The kitchen
The kitchen has amble counter and cupboard space but does not have an oven. Instead it has a single induction hot plate, microwave and toaster. It has a good sized fridge with freezer and it has a blender.
Other things to note
LAILO Farm Sanctuary is home to 37 rescued animals including cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, a turkey, miniature horse, donkey and dogs and cats.
Though we respect our guests' privacy, it should be noted that our family lives in a house on the same property. We have two rescue dogs who may bark when someone arrives. The dogs are always kept securely behind a fence or in our house.
Each morning there are volunteers who come to help with the sanctuary farm chores, so you may see or hear them. The art gallery also occasionally has visitors during the day.
The bedroom does not have a closet but there are hooks and clothes hangers provided, as well as drawers in the dresser in the main living area.
Out of respect for the sanctuary and its residents, we request that no meat or fish be cooked or consumed on the property.
