Neighborhood
Getting around the area
This is a place to chill and enjoy a bit of nature. There are lots of towns and villages worth seeing not too far away. The immediate vicinity is quite flat but the house is a haven of peace and quiet. There are not many vegan spots (tell me if you find more) but pizza places are very accommodating and there's a bakery where you can order croissants ordinaires which are made with margarine and not butter and are DELICIOUS! I buy in bulk, put in the freezer and airfry daily.

About This Space
A closer look at the stay
About
Our house is in the centre of a small town which is famous for having a real Rembrandt painting in the beautiful church - or Collegiale St Vincent! We look out over the Canal Lateral and there's a towpath for excellent walking/cycling. It's a townhouse with parts perhaps dating back a few hundred years. It's quirky and characterful and reflects our well travelled life! We're flexible with timings as we can be in London when you're in the house. The village (as we call it despite it being a 'ville') is very well serviced. There's a very good bar/restaurant (nothing vegan but the beer is good and they will make you a salad) and an excellent supermarket 5 minutes walk away. The village also has a doctor, pharmacy, beautician and hairdresser(s). The house is on the rise up from the River Garonne built on the ancient ramparts of a traditional bastide town.
The space
The house is over 3 floors + basement and garden. Ground floor has entrance, kitchen, salon (living room) and sunroom, where we spend a lot of time. 1st floor has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom between them with a bathtub with shower, loo and basin. Master bedroom has a balcony and views over the canal/river. 2nd floor similarly 2 bedrooms sharing a bathroom. This bathroom has a walk-in Italian style shower.
The kitchen
I would prefer meat not be be cooked in the kitchen but understand that we are all different and you might have friends who eat differently to you. All appliances are meat free and there is everything you might need in the kitchen.
Other things to note
Lots of parking in the village. This is a peaceful creative spot which can be very inspiring for artists, creators and writers. The wifi connection is excellent and the house has pretty good coverage.
