NEARBY VISITS: • There are many places to hike, camp, swim, snorkel, and other outdoor activities • Shipmans Beach - a 1 hr hike ending in a lagoon often with turtles ( jai goes often so may be able to join him) • Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, and Narnia are located near Hilo • Hawaiian Paradise Park / Maku’u Point - We are 3 miles from the coast that is very rocky and not safe for swimming but at times there are tide pools for soaking / small swimming and it is very beautiful for hiking / picnicking .Kehena Beach/Sunday fun day

Prefer long term.( short term available ) The rental is on our off grid organic farm—a sanctuary for someone who values sustainability, quiet, and simplicity. Location, Location, Location !!! Enjoy the best of both worlds with our convenient, centrally located property: Transit-Friendly: A mere 2-minute walk to the nearest bus stop, with service running through HPP to Hilo and Pahoa. We offer airport pickup for a fee Centrally Located: A short 12-minute drive to Pahoa and Keaau, and only 25 minutes to Hilo. The Space & Amenities : This cozy, furnished cabin is designed for low-impact, simple living. Privacy & Comfort: Includes a private, simple outdoor lanai/bathroom area with a private flush toilet, and a shared outdoor hot shower.
The space
Although HPP is a subdivision, our location on the Big Island is in a tropical rain forest with lots or rain and sun, bugs and critter are part of daily life here in the mini jungle
The kitchen
We have a vegetarian community kitchen that can be utilized with a small solar friendly mini fridge on the cabins private lanai. All utensils/dishes/pots/ a two burner stove top may be used in our very simple outdoor kitchen which is shared with a renter and worktraders. We may be able to set up a mini kitchen on the private cabin lanai especially for those booking more long term or for an additional fee.
Other things to note
OFF GRID SIMPLE LIFESTYLE: • We are on solar and water catchments systems, and we are very mindful of our water and electric use • Daily practices include short showers, plugging electronic devices in during the day, and unplugging devices when not in use • We do not have the power to run high energy items like blenders, curling irons, hair dryers etc. • Expect all things that come with living closely with nature, including bugs, very occasional power outages, sometimes spotty cell service We have 2 dogs and 2 cats
