About this space
As the name suggests, this cozy corner house is a place where travelers come together to share stories by the fireplace. We are a Slovenian couple Niki and Eva, who have moved to Portugal for our love of the ocean and the Portuguese culture. We share the house with our purrfectly spoiled cat Joey and have decided to open our hearts and home and bring the essence of travelling into this rustic house. While enjoying the atmosphere in a big and welcoming living room, you will also fall in love with the location - is there anything better than being accommodated 250 meters from the beach and 400 meters from the restaurants and a local market? We also want to give back to the planet a little bit. To honour all living beings we decided to go fully plant-based in our everyday life. We also love to share our passion for cooking with each guest, so even though there is no common kitchen, you will never go hungry. As for the accommodation, you can choose to stay either in a shared room (max. of 2 people), a double room with an ensuite bathroom or in the one bedroom apartment with a kitchenette and a separate entrance. No matter which of the options you choose, in Casa dos Amigos you will always be welcomed with a big smile and there will always be another corner of the beach to explore with friends that will always be there for you. The space
In front of the house we have a small blooming garden. You can recognize the house by the rose bushes and other flowers in front of it.
Located on the ground floor are our room, a toilet, kitchen, dining room and a spacious living room with a balcony. On the first floor there are two twin guestrooms with a shared bathroom besides them and a double bedroom with a private bathroom on the other side of the hall. On the second floor there is one more shared room for guests. Below the main floor there is a one bedroom apartment with its own kitchenette and a living space. Since the house is build on a small hill, this apartment is not in the basement but it has its own entrance and a nice terrace.
As we also live in the house, common spaces are shared with us and our cat. All guests have access to a spacious living room, where we have a small library from which you can borrow books, many board games and a TV with HBO and Amazon Prime channels. There is also a balcony with a small dining table if you want to enjoy a glass of wine or a meal while breathing in the ocean air.
The kitchen
Since we prepare meals and the kitchen is small, our guests unfortunately cannot use it for cooking. You can, however, find plates, cutlery, cutting boards, glasses and cups in the dining room as well as a toaster. There is also a designated tray in the dining room where you can put your dirty dishes for us to wash them and a shelf where you can store your food. You can enter the kitchen for purposes of using the microwave and the electric kettle, filling up your water bottles, washing your food in the sink and using the refrigerator.
Other things to note
Out of summer our village is pretty quiet and so is our house. We require silence between 10 pm and 7 am, however, since the house is older with wooden stairs and floors, it can be noisy when people are walking around.

Our community is very quiet and we have a close relationship with our neighbors. For that reason we ask you to respect our neighbor’s privacy and not to make any noise during the night. We don’t have strict rules, but we ask you to behave respectfully as if you were at your own home. For the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests, we require noise levels to be kept to a minimum during quiet hours - 22.00 to 7.00. We are a part of a condominium and by the rules of the owners’ association it is prohibited to our guests to use the common areas of the condominium (the inner garden, poo, BBQ area…). We kindly ask you to respect that.

We are cooperating with Surf2Smile, a local surf school that has licensed professional instructors ready to help beginners or advanced surfers. Actually, the owner of Surf2Smile is Niki’s brother who has been living in the area for more than 10 years and knows all the local spots. For more information about the surf lessons, renting the surf equipment and their merchandise, don’t hesitate to ask us. Our homemade meals are not only delicious, but also highly nutritious and plant-based. We have studied this subject to make sure that our dishes cover all your basic needs and that you return to your body the nutrients you’ve lost while catching waves. We offer daily breakfasts, personally prepared to give you the energy high you need to kick-start your day. Breakfast is served in the dinning room and living room area between 08.00 and 10.00. If you require a different timing for breakfast, please advise us on arrival. You can borrow sun umbrellas, wind-screens for the beach, beach ball games and yoga mats for stretching. You can find most of these in the living room or on the balcony or ask us to help you. We also have two bicycles that you can borrow upon request. We also offer lunch and dinner upon request, the reservations are made at breakfast the same day. You can find a sign-up sheet with additional information in the dining room.

Hey there! My name is Niki, originally I am from Slovenia but two years ago I have moved to Portugal together with my girlfriend Eva. Here we found a house in a small vilage called Praia da Areia Branca on the Silver coast. We fell in love with the place and decided to share it with others, so we opened a small guesthouse. In winter, when it is low season and we have some additional space, we help a local cat rescue with some cat and kitten fostering. We both love cooking and eat plant-based. Here in Portugal we enjoy it even more since so many different veggies can grow outside all year-round! A local farmer delivers us seasonal biologically grown veggies and fruits every week and we fell in love with trying out new recipes. We want to share that passion with our guests so we offer plant-based meals upon request. Besides cooking we enjoy long walks on the beach, going on an adventure with our cat Joey, reading thick books and meeting new people (one of the reasons we decided to have a guesthouse is because we feel like it gives us opportunity to meet people from all over the world and in that way we continue to ''travel'' all the time :)).
