Peregian Beach · Joined March 2022

My husband, James, and I live in a cute beach house directly across the road from the beach, in a community that we have enjoyed being members of for more than 20 & 30 yrs, respectively. We live a vegan lifestyle, practice yoga, compost all our vege scraps (as well as the neighbours) grow our own food, and walk the beach most days. We love being part of a close-knit community here in Peregian Beach, on the Sunshine Coast.

My Lifestyle

Kimberlee is a part time massage therapist, and James is a part time tradesperson. We spend as much time on the beach, in the ocean, and in Noosa National Park as possible. Noosa is right on our doorstep, so we make the most of it.

Fun Facts About Me

Kimberlee was born in Canada, grew up in Central Queensland, has returned to Canada many times over the years, but still calls Australia home. Kimberlee holds dual citizenship, and has enjoyed working in international schools and hosting international students for many years. James is Australian born and bred, did his yoga teacher training in 2013, and is very passionate about living a WFPD and sustainable lifestyle. Nature is our nurture.

Hobbies & Interests

Hobbies include gardening, reading, growing food and succulents. Kimberlee's special interests are photography, and making hand built ceramics, and James is passionate about growing native trees, fruit trees and converting our sand patch into a productive garden. We both love travel and exploring different cultures.

Favorite Quote

James - "Until mankind walks hand in hand with the animals, there will never be peace on this earth."

Additional Services

Extras your host offers

We can give you a list of local things to see and do, and our favourite coffee and food places. As we are only offering our home for short term holiday rentals and as we will not be here at the time of your stay, we are unable to offer additional services (massage, cooking classes, yoga classes). We will happily direct you to our favourite health practitioners on the Sunshine Coast, if requested.

Getting around the area

Our home is a 5 minute drive to Peregian Village, a 10 minute drive to Noosa, 15 to Noosa National Park, and 20 minutes to Noosaville. Walking to our local patrolled beach takes 5 minutes at the most, it is right across the road. Peregian Beach Markets (15 min walk) are held at the front of the Peregian Beach Surf Club on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month. There are lots of vegan dining options on the Sunshine Coast, with new places opening all the time, and you can find them all if you join Sunshine Coast Vegans on facebook. We also provide a list of local places for you to check out when you arrive. There is a bus stop right outside our back door, allowing you to catch public transport north to Noosa, or just across the road to go south to Coolum. Translink.com.au provide the local bus services, and you will find timetables online.

About This Space

A closer look at the stay

About

Our home is a quiet sanctuary. You will love it.

The space

Our beach house is U-shaped, with sleeping, kitchen and living areas wrapped around a spacious atrium, filled with natural light. There are 2 generous-sized bedrooms on one side, the master bedroom has a firm Queen Bed, with an incredibly comfortable Sleeping Duck mattress. The second room is Kimberlee's massage treatment room, which remains as is. These rooms are joined by a shared bathroom, with toilet, shower and bath. We have just one room functioning as a bedroom, therefore our spacious home is suitable for a couple or one person to utilise. The living room / dining room is on the other side of the house, looking out to a saltwater pool, which is partially undercover, perfect for hot days. The kitchen is in the middle of the U shape, looking into the atrium and into the back garden, which is filled with young fruit trees. The laundry at the back of the house also has a separate shower and toilet. Bedrooms and living areas have reverse cycle air-conditioners. There is a self-checkin key safe. Easy breezy.

The kitchen

We have a functional vegan kitchen, with new Russell Hobbs appliances. There is an Italian ECM (Espresso Coffee Machine) for the experienced barista / coffee connoisseur, with stand alone Rancilio Coffee Grinder. There is a dishwasher, a microwave, induction cooktop, and a generous upside down fridge / freezer.

Other things to note

The house is fairly quiet, even though our home backs onto on the main coastal route between Coolum to Noosa (the David Low Way). A high rendered wall creates privacy and buffers noise. There is a lockable gate that allows you to leave the back yard, cross the road, and arrive at a patrolled beach within 5 minutes. Our favourites are Beach Access 49, which is a relaxing walk on a boardwalk through coastal wallum, next to a stream. Beach Access 50 is one stop north, a busier, patrolled beach access, very popular with locals and surfers, with a dedicated car park and public toilets.
