I am a Dutch guy living in Norway since 2011. Vegetarian from 2012 until 2018 when I chose vegan. Here I live in one of three apartments in an old farm house at the foot of a by forest surrounded mountain. Trains and buses to Trondheim are nearby, bicycles can be borrowed and any advice on activities like swimming (pool and nature), hiking, sauna and more can be shared with you. I will do my best to give you whatever information you need to have a great trip. I work for an elementary school right now, but am studying for a D driving license and will change to bus driver during the summer. Please, be welcome.
My Lifestyle
I work to provide myself a self sustainable future on the edge of society, with one leg connected to modernity and one leg rooted in nature, craftsmanship, personal development and sustainability. Honesty, Authenticity, Vulnerability are my core values in all I do.
Hobbies & Interests

About
Ree Farm is on the edge of Stjørdal (Stjoerdal), which is a city just north of Trondheim. The last major city before entering Northern Norway. Even though the luxuries of a main city nearby are available, for most travellers it will feel like a wild place. Since nature is so nearby and houses so far apart. Within 10 minutes you walk to the nearby shop or the start of a trail into the mountains. You do need a car or public transport to come to other places for hiking. Norway is not a country easily navigated without a car, especially if you want to see the National Parks, waterfalls, mountain tops and deep valleys. The Pilgrims Road is right beside the house and runs all the way to Sundsvall in Sweden, 400 km to the East from here. Stjørdal has a cinema, restaurants, any shop you need, doctor, pharmacy, swimming pool with sauna and also other activities like sport and gaming clubs. Public transit is quite central from the train station in both directions (north and south) and even to Sweden where you can connect to Stockholm (9,5 hours). You can use the eurail tickets to travel here and back to Europe as well. I know the connections well and can help you with this. The house lies tucked between farm fields on one side and forests and mountains on the other. Main roads are far away enough not to be heard. The sound you are most likely to hear is the wind in the rafters when there is a gale blowing outside. I selected vegetarian below, as all are welcome. Myself, I mostly eat vegan, we can share breakfast or dinner if you want to. If you want to bring a dog or cat, please contact me so can talk about it more since there are some cats with my neighbours. Come and unwind, be welcome.
The space
You or your family can use up to two, private bedrooms. One room has a single bed, desk and desk chair. The other room has a single bed with an extra bed under it which extends it to a double bed. This room also has a desk, book shelves and make-up table. There is also a double bed under the stairs in the living room downstairs behind a curtain. So a total of 5 guests can have proper beds. I have no problem with more guests, but please contact me first. Wardrobes are available in the hallways, there are four, only one is used by myself. Shoes are stored downstairs by the door, always. Supplies to clean and do maintenance on shoes are available. The bathroom has floor heating and I am working on getting the sauna in the house working too. There would be a fee for this, as it is electrical, so probably just €5 per 1-1,5 hours. There is space for yoga and meditation and three meditation pillows which people can borrow. Curious about anything I might have forgotten? Just contact me and ask.
The kitchen
The kitchen is well equippen and I do not just say that. It is in daily use for anything from making porridge for breakfast to cooking soups and dinner, baking bread, cakes or pizza. Special wishes? Contact me, please.
Other things to note
The area is really quiet. My neighbours have children, so there is an occasional noise from kids playing or a teenager playing some music. Normal sounds of people enjoying life. Parking is right in front of the house, bicycles can be stored inside behind lock and key. Tools for maintenance of bicycles can also be provided and a shop with parts is nearby. Even minor car maintenance is not an issue, I am quite good myself and have a lot of tools. The WiFi is already good and being improved, as I prefer cabled internet due to lag and speed. It would be good to bring some house socks (with the gummi under it) or some slippers, the floor is slippery on just socks. Workspace can be arranged as well, as there are extra, not advertised rooms in the house too. Even desks and desk chairs are available. So it is a great space to be a digital nomad too. Important for men: everyone sits down on the toilet, whatever you need to do. Better hygiëne and better for your prostate! Ask your GP if you do not believe me.

The entire house is a shoe free zone, there is storage space by the front door. Quiet time is from 23:00 until 06:00 by law, but in good conversation most is possible. Watching films until late is not an issue, unless someone is wanting to sleep in the bed under the stairs. I selected that babies are welcome, which is true, however I have no protection for the staircase right now. So we need to work together here. Anything else can be arranged, I am sure.
