Cosy village house on two levels in the famous Corbières village of Embres & Castelmaure

The space

Ground floor : a main room with the stove and an office to work in a quiet space. A small toilet with a sink next to the stairs.

First floor : living room with a stove and a kitchen

Second floor : a first room with closets and a second room with no door and a bathroom. A mezzanine with two extra beds. Suitable for children.

The kitchen

The kitchen is fully equiped with basic cooking ustensiles. No meat allowed.

Other things to note

Although it is very common in France, the bell from the town hall is ringing all day and night long. Every guest gets used to it very quickly and no one complained so far!

Neighbourhood

The village is surrounded by short mountain hills and vineyards. The house is located in a dead end, quiet. The mairie bell rings every half an hour like in most of French villages. Few hikes are proposed around the village including the Cathar path. A Twelve century church located next to the ruins of Castelmaure is within fifteen walking distance from the village. The famous cave of Castelmaure is open daily seven days a week and propose wine degustation until 6.00 pm. A baker comes everyday around 11 AM to deliver bread. A small supermarket is 15’ driving distance away in the village of Dur...
