Friendly, calm and relaxed but sociable and well-travelled. Always happy to chat, and help with recommendations or ideas for your visit.
My Lifestyle
I was Veggie for 17 years and then went vegan, which has now been a further 9 years! I work in education and international development. I've lived here for 4 years, but in the Scottish Highlands for 9 years and know the area and its history well. I am often away working or on adventures somewhere, and will most likely be out for a lot of the time that you're here (though nearby!).
Fun Facts About Me
I'm also a DJ playing around the UK and Europe (afrobeat, latin, funk, soul, reggae), and organising events and festival stages. I've lived in Mexico, Ecuador, Sweden and then 12 year in Barcelona, and have travelled quite widely.
Hobbies & Interests
I love skateboarding, snowboarding, paddleboarding, and music. I am happy to chat or leave you to your own privacy, and really love the peace and quiet of this area, which you will too! I am involved in community work around music, anti-racism and community education.

Extras your host offers
I can easily recommend excellent places for massage and yoga in the local area, plus wild swimming, skateboarding, surfing, snowsports and paddleboarding etc. There are many good walks in the area and happy to recommend these, or some good dog walks too.

Getting around the area
This area really requires you to have a car to get the most of it, though there is a bus stop (from Inverness) just 10 mins walk away. There is a cafe 10 metres from the house which is not vegan but has good options, supermarket and local historical attractions a 10 min drive (in Beauly). Inverness is 25 mins drive, Loch Ness is just over the hill at 15 mins away via Drumadrochit, and Urquart Castle. The area is full of good easy walks, lochs for swimming or paddling, and of course you are a few minutes away from the famous North Coast 500 route and all it has to offer.

About This Space
A closer look at the stay
About
Quiet, tranquil and restful double room in a country cottage near Inverness. Additional double futon bed if needed. Step outside to forests, trails, or only 25 mins drive to Inverness, and 15 minutes to Loch Ness.
The space
The bedroom is up a short flight of stairs, is large, with a cosy double bed, a sofa (can be a double sofa bed), coffee table, books, lamps, a small writing desk and decent wifi. Duvets are of course non-down and there are extra blankets and pillows available if needed. There is a small table in the room (not pictured-yet!) to have tea, drinks, breakfast or dinner if you prefer privacy. Owner does have a dog but though dog will *not* be in the house during guest stays, this is not suitable for someone who has a strong pet allergy. (The dog never has access to the guest room when he is here!). Guests have access to the fully vegan kitchen and to a shared bathroom (bath, shower, hot water, sink, toilet). Also you have access to the rear garden, which has garden furniture on a porch, and views over the fields to the forest, as well as some very friendly horses. We tend to be away (locally) for a lot of guest stays so you may quite likely have the place to yourself, though we're close by if needed.
The kitchen
The kitchen is fully vegan but does contain items with nuts, gluten etc. There is an electric hob, oven, microwave, juicer, blender, food processor, and tea and coffee will be available too, as well as basic herbs, spices, salt, pepper and oil.
Other things to note
It is extremely quiet here, and we ask guests to respect this. If you are looking to have a party, this is not the place, but rather somewhere to relax and unwind, or use as a comfortable base for exploring the area. Parking is very easy right in front of the house for one car. For a larger van, there is a parking area in front of the cafe just next to us.
