Myself and my partner Josh (both vegan) live with my parents Mandy (vegan) and David (veg-curious... we're working on him!). And we love to share our space with other like-minded people. We are a Nature Retreat based on an arable farm that I grew up on and we're slowly claiming back land and rewilding it while growing organic veg on a much smaller scale for ourselves and our guests. We have always had animals that we love and consider members of our family, most with a rescue story; including chickens, ducks, a peacock and three cows We're all interested in spirituality, myself being a reiki practitioner, Josh dabbling in Tarot and David, an expert dowser who has restored ancient neolithic sites on our land including a stone circle, a longbarrow and labyrinth, perfect for meditation!

About
Our much-loved cottage will make a relaxing break as part of our Nature Retreat. It's surrounded by woods, gardens & an ancient orchard, 1 mile down a farm lane for the ultimate seclusion & star-studded nights. We're dog-friendly with over 120 acres of farm to explore, including a Labyrinth & stone circles. The cottage has traditional comforts, including a large granite fireplace.
The space
Once in the rose arched front door, you'll find an open living room/dining room, featuring a solid dining table handmade from reclaimed wood and a magnificent granite fireplace taking centre stage. In this living area, there's also a TV with Netflix so you have the option to enjoy a cosy evening in watching films after a day of exploring. The newly fitted kitchen incorporates an original Raburn, that provides background warmth in the chillier months. Upstairs there are high, open-beamed ceilings and low cottage windows looking out to the surrounding greenery. In the first bedroom is a king-size bed, and the second bedroom is dominated by the heart of the house, a spectacular granite chimney stack. In this spacious area is a small double and a single bed. The light and airy bathroom is inspired by cornish rock pools and includes a bath/shower.
Other things to note
We're lucky enough to be in a peaceful and secluded location so the lane access to the property is one ‘Cornish’ mile long leading into the heart of the valley. It's important to bear in mind that it is bumpy as it’s a farm lane so you’ll need to take it slow. It's also good to consider that this can add additional time to your journeys; though it can be less, we say to allow for 10 minutes to slowly amble your way down. Please see the last few pictures of what to expect. It's also important to be aware of the pond at the bottom of the garden, and the nearby lake if you have children or pets. There is no phone signal in the cottage, but it can be caught in the fields or up the lane (or you can use this as a way to take a break from the outside world.) We have two dogs, Spanish rescue, Billie and Masadonian rescue Mollie. They like to have the occasional woof but they’re very friendly, love cuddles and like to make doggy friends! We also have seven rescue hens, three ducks, one peacock and two female Dexter cows rescued from slaughter, now 15 years old. All our animals are cared for with love and here to live out the entirety of their natural lives.
