I have been vegan for 30 years and I work in animal rights. Getting away with my daughter and dogs is a new thing, but I'd like to share our special camp with other like minded individuals who want to get away from it all.

Getting around the area

About
If you would like to get away from it all in remote seclusion and in a waterfront spot in comfort, here's your chance. Listen to the loons while napping in the hammock and watch for eagles from the front porch. Enjoy stories of the famous pocomoonshine monster by the campfire. Sit and read a book from our specially curated "camp collection" which has something for everyone, and of course includes novels by Stephen King. You want to have your own boat. We will only rent to those who have their own transportation back-and-forth from the island. The cabin is over a mile from the public landing, so we advise having a small motor boat. Kayaks won't hack it if you have an emergency, although we do have kayaks available to you for your paddling enjoyment while you vacation. A bonus to having your own boat is that directly left of our cove there is an estuary that leads straight into 2 other lakes- you can motor or paddle for miles and enjoy the wildlife, absolute peace and quiet and the feeling of being alone in this very special place.
The space
This is a remote island spot. The cabin is a four season home, and is off grid, but does have a generator for limited use. Lake water supplies the bathroom and kitchen. No wifi, just peace and quiet, and great swimming! We have stocked the cabin with high quality linens, towels, blankets and dishware so that your cabin's stay feels more luxurious than the average remote cabin stay. There are two bedrooms, both with full, comfy new beds, and a sleeping loft with 2 new twins. There are non perishable items, basic condiments, and spices for you to enjoy. We are happy to share our special place with respectful renters. You must pack out everything that you bring with you including any personal food items, all garbage, etc.
The kitchen
Even though this is a remote off grid cabin, the home has a pretty traditional kitchen set up. Stove and refrigerator run on propane. But there is no microwave or other superfluous small appliances. If you like coffee, there is a coffee press! And a brand new vegan barbecue on the deck!
Other things to note
Pets are welcome but must be kept in the yard *at all times* to protect wildlife and keep in good relationship with other lake front owners. Plus, if you lose your dog out here, chances are you won't get them back- they can get very hurt out here. This location accesses deep wilderness via wetland that borders the island.
