Getting around the area
There are no vegan or vegetarian restaurants per se, but vegan/vegetarian items can be ordered at Nick's, Terra Cottage Cafe, Boulderview Tavern and possibly Piggy's breakfast. Most a 5 minutes walk down our street (Boulderview is a 5 minute drive). Our favorite place to stop for lunch or a bakery item is Pocono Organics- they have a great menu with lots of healthy options and usually have a vegan treat in the bakery area. We live on the North side of the lake which is not a through street so you can walk/bike most times in the street without many cars. You can also walk on the back private road. There are too many great hikes nearby to mention, and you can put a kayak in the lake just steps from out house down the public access road.

A closer look at the stay
About
Light and Cheery Black Cottage filled with light, happiness, and Scandinavian Design, steps from Lake Harmony. Come relax and breathe the crisp air of the PA forest, make art, read, cook, unwind, get inspired... We know food prep is an important part of a vegan/vegetarian diet so we have a lot of the basics for you ... if you have any special requests please let us know!
The space
There are 2 bedrooms: one with a new Queen sized Ikea bed and one with Ikea Full sized bed. All of our bedding and pillows are feather/wool/silk free!
The kitchen
We have a small brand new Summit refrigerator in the kitchen and a full sized brand new refrigerator in the basement (don't worry it's nice down there!) We have a Nespresso Vertuo machine and provide 2 pods per day, a nice selection of teas and some snacks. COOKING EQUIPMENT: Our cookware if stainless and we have lots of bakeware including cake pans/muffin pans/brownie pans/molds/cutters, toaster, and a zoodle machine!
Other things to note
We would prefer that you remove your shoes at the door upon entering. We have a brand new driveway! It is the 4th driveway down on the left side as you come down Tobyhanna street. It is a bit steep and goes up with gray gravel. It is usually pretty quiet although one of the neighbors is an Airbnb but they are usually quiet. It is very quiet at night so you will get a great night's sleep!
