Hello, I'm Monica, I was born in 1971. My main job is being booking agent and doing promotion for music bands, I'm also a music blogger / journalists. I love music of course, especially rock'n'roll, garage, shoegaze, psych, but I listen to many different things! I love travelling, I've been travelling a lot for my job all over Europe, and I enjoy meeting new people. I've been living in London for 2 years too, and for a short time in Berlin. I'm in love with Iceland, I've been there as volunteer in July 2014, then in summer 2015 and February 2016 I've been working at Lambhus Gisting (guesthouse in the South East) and Selfoss Hostel, at cleaning and reception. And I spent 4 months in summer 2017 working in Seydisfjordur at beautiful Nord Marina Guesthouse (housekeeping, breakfast, reception). Making people happy with their travels is definitely something I love, as I love cooking, gardening, and any other form of creativity. I host since 2015, and fully embraced a no cruelty lifestyle since 2023, so Id love to have guests sharing my vision. My motto? "Let's try it? Not, let's do it!" :)
My Lifestyle
I work from home, so the house and room, with workspace, are suitable for remote workers. I live with two cats, who are friendly and playful, and love to meet new friends.

Getting around the area
The house is in the pedestrian part of the village, Castiglione Chiavarese, which used to actually be inside the walls of the castle (Castiglione means Castle). There are several stone steps to reach the house but the compensation is a stunning view and a quiet space far from the main road. In the village we have shops, no many vegan option, but in nearby Sestri Levante there are supermarkets with huge choice, as Coop, Natura Si, Ekom. The bus stop is 4 minutes walking from the house, and there are connections to Sestri Levante from 5am to 9pm. Sestri Levante is famous for the beaches, especially Baia del Silenzio, and by train is easy to go in less than 1 hour to 5 Terre, Portofino, Camogli, Genoa.

About
A bright and spacious single room in my house, perfect for solo travellers looking not just for a place to sleep but also for suggestions from a local. There is workspace and good wifi, and plenty of storage. The house comes with two funny indoor cats! You have full use of the kitchen – happy to teach you Italian recipes - but prefer no meat please. Our village has shops, nice hikes around it, and 5am-9pm buses to the beach of Sestri Levante, then a short train ride to 5 Terre and Portofino. Registration number IT010013C2UOU2QHCN
The space
The Guest room is very bright, facing East with a stunning view on the valley. It comes with proper storage space, wardrobe and drawers, and a desk if you need to work. The bed is 90X200, bedsheets and towels and 100% cotton. The bathroom has shower and washing machine, and - as the kitchen - is shared only with me. The kitchen has a balcony with an incredible view reaching the sea, I love to enjoy sunset there!
The kitchen
It's a full kitchen, I have electric oven fridge/freezer, water boiler, and blender. You'll have your personal space in the fridge and in the cupboard. I kindly ask to not leave unattended on the counter space food that is dangerous for cats (onion, garlic, chocolate, tea bags). Full vegan breakfast included for stays of less than one week: fresh fruits, orange juice, veg drinks, overnight oats or porridge, local wholegrain bread, jams, soy yoghurt, muesli, cookies and croissant, homemade hummus, nuts, mixed seeds, and of course tea and coffee. For longer stays I will provide the basics for breakfast: orange juice, cookies, veg drinks.
Other things to note
I live with 2 rescued cats, Grimm and Rio, who love to meet new friends. Wi Fi is strong, I work from home so I need it to be good for work. The area is very quiet, just some neighbours have dogs and sometimes they bark.
