Hi, I am a professional health educator and speaker. I have been vegan for 33 years, and a raw vegan for 30 years. I have 3 sons who I raised as vegans. I wrote the UK's first raw food recipe book! I have a raw vegan business, Raw Living, and travel a lot teaching classes and workshops. If you are renting the London room, you will be staying in my home while I am away, and sharing with my son Zachary, who works at London's best vegan restaurant, Farmacy. I also have a villa in Bali for rental. Bali is raw vegan paradise!

About This Space

A closer look at the stay

About

Stunning eco-luxe villa with rice field views on the outskirts of Ubud. The open plan nature of the build means you are fully immersed in the beautiful natural environment. Contact me for availability. Currently taking bookings for Feb 23 onwards. When you book, we can help with all aspects of arranging your trip including airport transfers, massage, excursions to waterfalls, temples and beaches, scooter hire, laundry, and where to get the best vegan food.

The space

Be one of the first to stay in this brand new eco-build in the rice fields, just 10 mins outside of Ubud. Live with the locals in the village of Singakerta. Stunning 180 degree views of the rice fields, in your own private beautiful eco-villa. Built with sustainability in mind with all natural materials and furnishings. The space Open plan living area with a couch that can also be used as a bed. Open plan kitchen with dining table and seating for up to six. Blender, dehydrator, super large fridge. 2 electric hobs, no oven. One bathroom with 1 toilet, 2 wash basins, and outdoor shower. Both bedrooms have Queen beds, rice field views, mosquito nets, and ceiling fans. Koi pond with water feature in centre of villa. Garden with frangipani trees. A balcony which is the perfect space for yoga. Shaded places to sit, or spots to sun yourself in, your choice. Strong WiFi throughout the villa and in the garden. Parking for 3 scooters. Both bedrooms are lockable for your peace of mind. The living areas are open plan, this allows for natural ventilation. You are in the rice fields so there are mosquitos! They are only really an issue at dusk, and we supply a bottle of natural citronella. At night, you will hear the symphony of geckos, frogs and crickets. In the morning, the cockerels announce the sunrise, and the dogs love to join in. During the day is very peaceful with birds singing and many dragonflies and butterflies. We will also provide 1 x 19litre Balinese spring water from Mount Agus on arrival, as well as hand soap and eco-cleaners. We provide towels and bed linen, we will change those for you once a week. We would love it if you want to compost your food waste. We can provide a container for that. The villa does not have a pool because we wish to limit our use of chemicals, but you are welcome to use the pool at a hotel just 5 mins walk across the ricefield for around $3 fee. Guest access Singakerta is 10 mins by scooter outside of Ubud centre, closer to authentic Bali than the tourist bubble in town. Supermarkets and local shops close by, including Pepito and 24hr Cocomart. There is parking for 3 scooters. A car can pull up to the gate, but no parking for cars. We have reliable and friendly drivers in our team who will be happy to help you when you need them. Other things to note You will be staying in an area with locals as your neighbours, please respect them and their customs. We provide linen and towels. Dewa and his family are on hand for anything you might need, including villa maintenance or transport. We can organise massage, motorbike hire, laundry, day trips to temples, beaches or waterfalls, or anything at all. You will find that the Balinese are the most kind and helpful people, and nothing is too much trouble. Please contact us if you would like to arrange airport transfers, our driver will bring you directly to the villa for a small fee (350,000 IDR). If you need early check-in or late check-out, pls let us know, if we don't have other guests that will be possible. If we do have guests, you are welcome to leave your luggage at the villa until a mutually convenient time. We love Bali and its magic and we would be delighted to share it with you!

The kitchen

There is a dining table which comfortably seats 6. The kitchen is open plan so you can admire the beautiful views while you eat, and the breeze provides natural ventilation. We have a dehydrator, a blender, and a very large fridge. We can recommend where to get local deliveries of organic veggies and fruits, juices etc on booking. We can even arrange for juice and coconut water to be with the driver when he collects you from the airport! Ubud is a mecca for raw vegans, with many excellent vegan restaurants in town.

Other things to note

There is an additional £20 booking fee per person. The villa is not suitable for: Small children, due to the open plan nature of the build and the central Koi pond. Those who prefer some separation from nature. Those who are easily disturbed at night; there is some local ambience from the animals which could be a problem for light sleepers. Those who need an oven for cooking.
