We are Julia and Norbert. We are 55 and 63 years old. Being biologists preserving nature is our concern. Apart from us there are twelve rescue chickens and our cat Levi living in the house. We eat mostly vegan food, but we make exceptions, especially with the eggs our own chickens lay. One of our favourite pastimes is laying in the garden and admiring nature and watching our chickens. We usually rent our place out on airbnb, but I thought it was great when I discovered this platform!
My Lifestyle
I love spending time in and around my home, gardening or being with my friends or grown up children. Whenever possible, I use my electric bike when going to other places, because I enjoy that a lot and I focus on living as emission free as possible.

Although I don't feel that old, I'm going to be a grandma soon.
Hobbies & Interests
Playing the piano, gardening, riding my bike, learning new skills (at the moment it's how to knit socks and Dutch), and of course - nature.

Getting around the area
The studio is in the top floor of our house and our sons' rooms used to be up there. We totally renovated the whole place in 2021. We have a beautiful large garden, we grow our own vegetables and our rescue chickens are in our garden, not in a pen, so you can meet them (and feed them) anytime. You have access to the woods at the end of our road and you can walk for hours. We have prepared some walks and hikes that you can easily do via the app komoot. The motorway is 2 km away, so our place is easy to reach. Our home is also within easy reach by public transport, which is quite good (busses every 10 to 20 minutes). We love going for walks in the woods or just staying in the garden.

About This Space
A closer look at the stay
About
Our studio apartment is spacious and full of light. We have all the amenities we could think of like coffee, tea, oil, salt & pepper, bathroom facilities and towels, a blender, a ventilator; just to name a few.
The space
The apartment is around 55 square metres with an own entrance. The bed in the large room is 1,80 x 2,00 metres. There is a TV set, books, games, toys for children, lots of space to store your things. We have a welcome booklet with lots of info and recommendations for trips and things to see. There is a tiny room with a bed in 1,40 x 200 metres, suitable for children or people who don't mind snuggling up (unfortunately I couldn't upload the picture). You have access to our garden (with an enthusiastic welcome by our chickens) and there is a corner in the garden especially for our guests.
The kitchen
Fridge and freezer compartment, microwave, oven and stove, dishwasher, coffee machine for pads, water boiler, spices, oil and vinegar, towels and of course cutlery and dishes for all uses.
Other things to note
Our cat is anti-allergic as he is a bengal-mix. Two of our children are allergic to cats, so we have tried that out. As the motorway is not so far away you sometimes hear it in the distance depending on where the wind comes from. Apart from that our place is very quiet because we live in a dead-end road.
