Hello! My name is Björg! I'm originally from Iceland but have lived in Denmark for more than 10 years. I live with my husband and two daughters as well as our 10 year old cat. My husband is an assistant professor in Political Science and I'm an MD. We recently bought a house and because we like traveling and meeting other people - especially if they are compassionate - we decided to rent out our spare room.
My Lifestyle
I've been veg since 2008 and vegan since 2014. My approach to veganism is pragmatic and focuses on effective activism. I really enjoy philisophical conversations about ethics. We have rented out our house on Airbnb to non-vegans but for guests staying with us while we are home, it is important for us that they only bring plant-based ingredients into our household.
Fun Facts About Me
I lived in Thailand when I was 13 years old for around 1 year because my mom wanted to learn Thai.
Hobbies & Interests
I volunteer for an effective animal right's organization here in Denmark called Dyrenes Alliance. I have previously worked for them as a regional coordinator that worked with volunteers to plan events. Now I'm Vice Chairperson in the organization.

Getting around the area
On the other side of the road you can rent a bike and bike downtown which takes around 15 min. You can bike 5 minutes until you get to Fruens Bøge where you can bike along Odense River all the way downtown. It takes maybe 5 minutes more but it is such a lovely trip. On the river you can rent a row boat to explore the area. We also love walking down "Æblestien" (The apple path) which is a 40 minute hike through fields with apple trees on each side.

About This Space
A closer look at the stay
About
Villa in a quiet neighborhood in close proximity to supermarket and public transport. Close to hiking paths and green areas.
The space
The guest bedroom is the first room when you enter through the main door. It is located next to our daughter's playroom which is only in use during daytime hours. There is a futon couch that can be pulled out and is around 140 cm wide. We have linen and towels.
The kitchen
We have a fridge and freezer inside the house and a big freezer in the basement. You can eat snacks in your room but please no food that can stain the couch.
Other things to note
We eat dinner pretty early (around 18.00). You can eat with us if it fits your schedule. If we are working we wake up pretty early so you will have the home to yourself. We go to bed around 22.00 in the evening and we expect you to be quiet after that time. You can get your own set of keys so you can come and go as you please.
