Neighborhood

Getting around the area

I bought my house in this neighborhood because of all it has to offer. Museums, running, biking, shopping and restaurants close by and only a short walk or bus ride to Center City. This is a safe and quiet neighborhood but only a few blocks from some very cool restaurants and bars.

About This Space

A closer look at the stay

About

A traditional rowhouse on a small quiet street, yet only a quick walk to Philadelphia's famous museums and Boathouse Row, Kelly Drive for biking, running and walking, Fairmount Park, and only a little further to Whole Foods, Eastern State Penitentiary and Center City. Great restaurants close by and public transit with 4 bus lines within a block. Two fixie bikes for riding the beautiful Schuylkill River drives and for quick trips into Center City. Biking is a great social-distancing exercise.

The space

A spacious first floor living room, dining room, kitchen with a 57" TV and a fireplace. Second floor has three bedrooms - large, medium and small and a bathroom. Basement has new Samsung washer and dryer.

The kitchen

Fully stocked kitchen has new appliances including GE refrigerator and convection oven/stove, Cuisinart convection toaster oven, Cusinart blender, Cuisinart/Keurig coffee maker, Brondell triple-filtered water. Dishes, glasses, silverware, snacks, breakfast items, essentials such as spices and oils.

Other things to note

The Fairmount/Art Museum Area is one of Philadelphia's safest and most picturesque neighborhoods. My house is a few minute walk to the Art Museum, Boathouse Row and the Schuylkill River with its beautiful bike, running and walking trails. I provide two bikes to enjoy those trails. The narrow, tree-shaded streets are lined with historic Philadelphia rowhouses, quaint restaurants and coffeehouses, but are only a quick stroll to the best museums in Philadelphia - The magnificent Philadelphia Museum of Art (simply called the "Art Museum" by locals) with the statue of Rocky adjacent to the steps Philly-native Sylvester Stallone ran up in his films; the Rodin Museum (the only other Rodin museum outside of the one in Paris); the Barnes Foundation museum (one of the world's greatest collections of impressionist, post-impressionist and modern art); the Franklin Institute (one of the best science museums and planetariums in the world and very kid friendly!); Eastern State Penitentiary (the first modern prison in the world now operated as a museum); the Academy of Natural Sciences (think dinosaurs!); the Please Touch Museum (your kids will love it!) - and many others. The neighborhood is also home to Fairmount Avenue with its many shops and wonderful restaurants. And all of this is only a nice walk down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway into Center City, Philadelphia's downtown.
