This is rural NJ at it's best. The township (Montague) is located in the Northwest corner of New Jersey and sits alongside the scenic Delaware River, with Pennsylvania across the river and New York State to the North. Montague offers panoramic and scenic views along with varied outdoor recreational opportunities throughout the township and within High Point State Park, Stokes State Forest, and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

About
Tamerlaine Sanctuary & Preserve Enjoy 336 acres of farmland that surround the historic 1774 Farm House. We are a non-profit farm sanctuary with over 200 rescued animals. Wake up to crowing roosters in a misty morning amid the most bucolic of settings. A picture-perfect view from every window in the house. Hike, swim, commune in nature, and spend time with the friendliest farm animals you have ever met. So many wonderful spaces to meditate and dream. Considered one of the most beautiful farms in Sussex County, NJ.
The space
Room to roam! The property consists of hiking trails, giant open fields, lakes, beautiful farm animals, and breathtaking views. The rustic historic farmhouse sits atop a hill with stunning views from every window in the house. Each room has its own charming character. The living room steps out into a backyard complete with BBQ, patio furniture, and overlooks the entire back end of the property including the pool. We are a plant based retreat. Spend a weekend cleansing your body and soul by eating a plant based diet. It is so easy. We have a guide to the best our community has to offer in plant based foods in and around our location. There are many restaurants in the area that offer a wide range of cuisines. There are 3 very separate sections of the house, each with their own staircase. A one bedroom suite with a king bed. A two bedroom suite with one king and one queen. A three bedroom suite with one queen, 2 twins, and one twin. Each suite has it's own bathroom. We are a plant-based location. We do not allow any food that consists of animal products on the property inside or outside of the house out of respect to the farmed animals that live here and were rescued from farms that used them for food. NOTICE: We do not host events through Airbnb. If you would like to inquire on Event pricing, please visit Tamerlane's website to talk with our Event's Manager. Any events hosted at tamerlaine without approval will incur additional charges.
The kitchen
The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook. There is a BBQ in the backyard as well. Lot's of dishes, platters, ramikens, and everything you would need to make a beautiful dinner party for all of your friends and family.

Total access to the house and surrounding property. You are not allowed to enter any of the animal barns or enclosures without a guide. Included in your stay is a 2 hour educational tour where you get to meet all of our animal ambassadors. We are the highest rated Airbnb experience in the area. Although this is a private house the sanctuary is a public space. There is a full time staff working with the animals and in the barns 7 days a week.
