I am a high school/community college educator and have been for 23 years. My parents raised me vegetarian, but I (and my now 23-year-old daughter) went full vegan in 2015. I spend summers visiting her since I have summers off. I hope to leave my home in the hands of like-minded vegans. I have traveled to 30+ countries and have yet to find a place that I can't be vegan (previously vegetarian) in. That said, Santa Barbara is very vegan friendly. I belong to a very vocal group called "Vegan Lady Boss" & one of our members even spearheaded the annual "Vegan Chef Challenge". This residual effect is that many local chefs kept their popular vegan items on the menu after the month-long event. I have plenty of vegan shopping/eating suggestions as well as a myriad outdoor activity suggestions (all free).
My Lifestyle
Mother to a daughter, an animal lover to the extreme, and an educator of teens. These are also the order of my priorities in life :)

Raised my daughter alone since I divorced her father when she was 5 months. We are from the Bay Area (Oakland), CA. I taught in Uganda for three years at the International School and my daughter came along. I speak Spanish. She speaks French.

Getting around the area
This is a Planned Unit Development (PUD) which means the only cars coming back to my property are the 2-3 neighbors who live nearby. The next door neighbor still gets old school newspapers delivered, so you may hear a delivery car at the wee hours of the morning if you are an early riser.

About
I live in the very back of a private complex. The home faces an empty field with trees, so lots of birds come and go all day
The space
You are welcome to full use of my 2-story condo. Downstairs is hardwood and upstairs is carpeted (please remove shoes). Small private patio in the back which gets full sun all morning.

All new appliances (purchased in 2016 and 2021)
Other things to note
Very quiet neighborhood. This is likely the best fit for people coming to enjoy the sanctuary called Santa Barbara.
