Payout FAQ



How do I get paid?


1) Once you are logged into Vegvisits.com, go to your picture at the top right of the platform and select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.


2) Click on the green button that says Add Payout Method.


3) Choose the country you reside in from the dropdown menu, and select either PayPal, Stripe (US-only bank accounts), or Venmo (US-only phone numbers) as your preferred payout method. If you don’t have an account yet with any of them, don’t worry! We’ll get to this...


If you selected PayPal

• You will be asked to put in your email address associated with your PayPal account.


• As soon as you receive your payout, an email will be sent to you from PayPal so you can view your balance and transfer the funds to your bank account.


• If you do not have a PayPal account, you can set up an account here.


• If you wish to set up an account later, provide your email, and after your first hosting experience you'll be notified to set up your PayPal account so you can claim your funds.



If you selected Venmo (US phone numbers) - 

• You will be asked to provide your US number associated with your Venmo account.


• As soon as you receive your payout, a text will be sent to you from Venmo so you can view your balance and transfer the funds to your bank account.


• If you don’t have a Venmo account, just provide your US phone number for now. When you receive your first payout, you'll get a text message to set up your Venmo account to claim your funds.

If you selected Stripe (US bank account)* -

• You will be taken to Stripe and asked to fill out some details to create your account.


• You will be asked to provide a description of your business. If you don't have one, put "Rental on Vegvisits".


• Once you confirm your phone number, you’ll have the option of either adding a bank account or debit card where you’d like to receive your payout.


*Please note that Stripe payout currency is USD only


4) Select Finish, and make sure that this added payout method is the default, otherwise click the Select Default link next to the new payout method. Any future payouts will automatically be processed to the default payout method.




When will I receive my payout?


We start the payout for our host on the day of check-out so that we can provide support unitl the very end, in case a refund needs to be made according to the host's cancellation policy. Depending on your preferred method of payment, the funds may take a few additional days to be reflected in your account.


PayPal:

If you already have an account, your payout should appear in either your pending balance or available balance immediately. The payment may take some time to clear, but you will still receive a separate payment notification and be able to view it on your homepage under Recent Activity when you log into PayPal (or alternatively under the Activity tab).


Venmo:

The money could arrive in your Venmo account anywhere from a few hours to 1-2 days if you already have an existing Venmo account. If you have to set up an account, it could take an additional few days. 


As soon as you receive your payout, you'll receive an email notification from PayPal or Venmo, and you can transfer the funds to your bank account.


Standard transfers from a Venmo or PayPal account to a bank account are free, but might take 1-3 days depending on your bank. Instant transfers to an eligible bank account or debit card typically arrives within 30 minutes for a 1% fee (up to $10). For more information, read more about Venmo transfers and PayPal transfers.


Stripe:

Your payout will be seen immediately as Pending, and will become available to you in 2 business days.




How can I view my payouts?


Paypal:

1) Log into www.paypal.com using your PayPal email address (the same one provided under your Vegvisits Account Settings). Here you can view your PayPal balance, which you can transfer to your bank account at any time (or have a check sent to you). 

 

2) To view your payouts, select the Activity tab at the top of the page. Any transaction that says ‘Payout Received’ from Vegvisits LLC is a payout to you.

 

Venmo:

Log into www.venmo.com from your computer’s browser using your Venmo phone number (the same one provided under your Vegvisits Account Settings). Select the Statement tab or click here to view your transaction history, which will also include your payouts from Vegvisits.

 

Stripe:

Log into vegvisits.com, click the photo icon on the top right and select Account Settings from the dropdown menu. Click on the Payouts link next to your added Stripe account.




How can I avoid being charged currency exchange rates?


Hosts are paid in the currency that they choose for their listing. If a payout needs to be converted to another currency (to transfer funds to your bank account for example), exchange rate fees will occur. So by choosing the correct currency for your listing, you can easily avoid these additional fees.


Here's the steps to change your listing's currency:


1) Go to the Host tab at the top of the platform and select Manage Listings from the dropdown menu.

2) Select the Edit Listing button next to the listing you'd like to change, and click on the Change link under Step 3 of your listing creation page.

3) Click on the Pricing tab, and select the currency you'd like to be paid in using the dropdown menu.

4) Tap the Save & Exit link on the top right.




I don’t see my payout on PayPal, what could be wrong?


1) Confirm your email address for your PayPal account. If your account is not verified, PayPal will hold the funds for up to 21 days.


2) Make sure that your PayPal email address is the same one you have set as your default payout method on Vegvisits under Account Settings. If the wrong email address is used, your payout will not be delivered and will be returned to Vegvisits after 30 days.




I received a PayPal payout to an email that I can no longer access, what should I do?


Send us an email at team@vegvisits.com and provide us with your new email address. Please also include your old email address that you no longer have access to, so that we can redirect the payout using your new email.


Also, be sure to update your payout method by clicking on your picture at the top right of the platform and selecting Account Settings. Select Add Payout Method, click PayPal, and then confirm your new email address. Once you've done, click the Set Default link next to your newly added PayPal account to update your payout method.




How can I transfer my PayPal or Venmo balance to my bank account?


Paypal:

1) Log into www.paypal.com using your PayPal email address (the same one you provided to Vegvisits in your Account Settings).


2) Under your balance in the home screen, select Transfer Money and then Transfer to your bank (or you can request a check by mail for a small fee).


3) Select your bank account, or link an eligible debit card or bank account if you haven’t already, and then press Next


4) Enter the amount you’d like to transfer, review the details and then click Transfer.

Venmo

1) Add a bank account.


2) Verify your bank account (optional but recommended, to make sure you added your bank credentials correctly!)


3) Once you have added and verified your bank account, you can now transfer funds. If you are using a computer, click here to transfer funds. If you are using the app:

a) Select the "☰" icon at the top of the app.

b) Click on Transfer to Bank or Transfer Money. (Alternately: select Manage Balance and then Transfer to Bank).  

c) Enter the amount you would like to transfer to your bank.

d) Select Instant (for a small fee) or 1-3 Biz Days (for no fee), and click your preferred bank account or debit card.

e) Confirm your transfer details, and click the green Transfer button.

How can I add a new bank account or debit card on Stripe?


Log into vegvisits.com, click the photo icon on the top right and select Account Settings from the dropdown menu. Click on the Account link next to your added Stripe account, and add your new debit card or bank account under the Payout Details section.




I want to change my payout method, how can I do this?


1) Log into Vegvisits.com and click on the photo on the top right corner of the page, and select Account Settings.


2) Select Add Payout Method.


3) Choose a billing county/region, and your preferred payout method (PayPal, Stripe or Venmo).


4) If you choose PayPal, provide your email address associated with your new PayPal account; if you choose Venmo, provide your US phone number. If you select Stripe, you will be taken off the site to create an account and add your bank account or debit card.


5) Select Finish, and click the Select Default link next to the new payout method you've just added.
