Thank you for supporting The Retreat and coming to stay at Cow Cottage. We really are so grateful to you. Your kind donation will go a long long way in helping us save more animals. Cow Cottage was a former milking parlour within the Farm. Before it’s conversion it still contained the rusty chains used to shackle the cows during milking. We hope Cow Cottage brings happiness and hope to our guests who stay here. We believe it’s changing the negative energy of the building to something more positive. Whilst a guest at Cow Cottage we need to bring to your attention some important points to make your stay trouble free. * We ask that you do not enter any barns, stables, buildings, enclosures or paddocks without permission. Do not wander around the sanctuary after 9pm. * We ask you to respect our costly overheads and where ever possible turn off lights, taps and other wasteful use of energy. * We ask you to reframe from eating meat fish eggs or dairy on the premises ie follow a vegan diet whilst you are staying with us. * No smoking anywhere within the sanctuary except the car park. * Be mindful of our rescued residents they may bite, kick or otherwise injury you. * Our sanctuary dogs are temperamental so please don’t take anything away from them. They are best left alone. * Keep your dogs on leads at all times * Always lock your car and the Cottage . * Please leave recycling beside the bin. Wash tins and bottles and any clear plastic. Unused food can be given to the chickens during the day. * Noises in the roof can be any kind of an animal or bird but please don’t worry they can get out. * WiFi is poor in the cottage so please talk to each other. * We have beautiful sunsets so don’t miss them * There is a foot path up the lane on the left which is walkable to the shop and pub ( Vegan stuff in both ) * We are only 30 mins from some beautiful coastlines and amazing walks. * Nearest Vegan places to eat offsite are Folkestone, dymchurch, Maidstone and whitstable. Check in is at 12 noon at the cafe. Check out of the cottage by 10am on day of departure to enjoy your day at our beautiful sanctuary. Our vending machine is available 24 hours a day for drinks and snacks. The Retreat cafe is open Thursday-Sunday 12-4pm with take away available too. Enjoy your stay and don’t forget to kiss a cow.
